Game of Thrones

For all the great character building and story telling that seasons 1-7 did season 8 just feels very disappointing to me. It's like they threw the character building right out the window then rushed to finish up the story. They really should of taken the time and added another season.

I am perfectly happy with this season. There have been so many despicable characters in GoT and to think that a woman who has been through as much as Dany wouldn't blow her cool (mind) is naive. Dany had lost two dragons that she loved like her children (one shot down by Euron when she and her armies came to give Cercei a chance to surrender without bloodshed) and then she lost her confidante/friend when Cercei had her head chopped off, she found out that her lover was her nephew and had a claim to the Iron Throne, lost her friend/guardian in the attack of the Night King who had also killed her dragon and brought it back to life and used it against her, she was betrayed by Varys and by Tyrion.

When she and her dragon are sitting on a wall watching as the Golden Army surrendered, you could see her face turn to bitter hatred as the bells began to ring, and then to madness as she took to the sky again and began the process of wiping out the city and it's inhabitants.

Dany was a character that we loved dearly and wanted her to have the Iron Throne which was her birth right. But she had begun to change as soon as she and her armies reached Winterfell. She was not loved as she had been before by her people, the people she had liberated, and those she thought her allies. Sansa did not like her and the tension between them was immense. And the rest unfolds as the war with The Night King began. Dany had always insisted that everyone bend their knee because she felt her being queen warranted. Many did not like that and many felt her cold. And in coming to Winterfell she found out that Jon was her nephew which caused her to recoil but she still wanted Jon as her lover but Jon, once finding out the truth of his parents pulled back from her. She had acknowledged that the war with Cercei might be peace or it could be fear. When Jon pulled away she said, "It's fear then."

She has a right to the throne as does Jon and Gendry.

I know people want their beloved characters to stay loved but that is not GoT. GoT is a story of love, lust, betrayal, hatred, war, and death. It has killed the characters I loved best when the Red Wedding took place. But it was part of the story and I accepted it as brilliant writing and direction and there is no doubt the fabulous acting that happens with this show. It is a show that builds you up and then cuts you down and that was proven with the death of Ned Stark who was such a great character. It is one of the greatest shows ever to air on tv and it remains that way no matter how many cry about their fav characters dying or changing. We are not the writers of the show nor are we the directors. We are just those people who want our loved ones to stay with us and to stay true to what we want them to be. The brilliant writers see it as they write it. To them I say BRAVO!

Here Here! My feelings exactly about the writers!

You really should binge watch GoT because there is so much richness of story, of characters who you will love and hate. The story line is dark and explosive at times and getting to know the characters and what they go through as they search for the their own truth/reward/hate/revenge. It is filmed so beautifully and performed/directed to perfection.

Im up to season 7, episode 1

Knew it. I just KNEW IT. Ended exactly as I'd told a friend on the phone. I saw, on other sites, that others guessed the same thing.

my post from hot topics . . .

(My cat ran across the keyboard so I have to re-do)

I think it went pretty good and unexpected based on what Ive read, being a newbie to GOT.
I didnt like Cersei's ending. I would have liked her and Dany to fight it out. I do like that they killed off Dany and the dragon took her away. I liked that the throne got melted. I wasnt a Jon Snow fan but his ending was dull. I read most people didnt think Bran would be King but I kind of liked that he did.

I thought Peter Dinklage had too much slow walking and talking screen time. I liked how they ended with the other characters. There were alot of finale theories but I think it was done well considering

In other episodes, I did not see Arya poison all those men. That was a surprise for me

Done and done brilliantly. Sad for some characters and huurah for others, and sad for me because it is over and that thrill and excitement and anticipation has gone with it. Probably the best show ever on tv.

Loved the final, everyone did an outstanding job. As someone who read the books a lot of theories I had came to pass but just in different and unexpected ways.

I thought the behind the scenes was boring. It needed narration and there was too much time filming 'the snow man' and the Stark guard extra. Barry Manilow, really
