Gay adoption?

I'm in agreement 100%.

I'm also against bi-racial couples having children, fat people, ugly people, people who have bad hair, people who are poor, people who are disabled and people who are Jewish.

How DARE those freaks expect me to teach my kids to respect others? I mean, everyone should be EXACTLY the same or get off MY world.
Exactly. I also think we should still have segregated schools... I mean, look at what those black children had to deal with when they were bused to school every day. No child should have to go through that kind of experience.

If there is ignorance in the world, oh well... What can we do about it except compromise our values in order to let it exist?

I had some friends over for dinner this past weekend and we got to talking about adopting and the foster system. They have been considering adoption for a while and have met with social workers from our local Children's Aid Society for a while.

The most interesting point I ever heard came up when they mentionned to the social worker that they were quite impressed at how well the process was going. They'd expected more resistance from the system against two gay men looking to adopt/foster.... The social worker replied saying " We look favorably on Gay and Lesbian couples because frankly, their return rates are much lower than hetrosexuals"

Now, A) wow, aren't we great people. It goes to show that when you're gay and have climbed the adoption mountain, obviously you're more dedicated....

But B) RETURNS? WTF..... how do you take a child back to the orphanage and say... umm, sorry, wrong size. Jesus! I never thought we could become so cynical.

So, yep. Having two daddies isn't gonna be easy for Johnny or Edith.... Neither is single parenthood, poverty, ethnic diversity or perhaps even being gay him or her self. Being a kid is not easy, and the other little monsters out there can make it pretty horrible. What makes the difference is loving, committed parents what ever the gender combo or orientation. Kids who find themselves in the foster system need to get out of it and into a familly that will care for them... that's the key to their future development and happiness.

//As for the getting married in a church thing, it is stated in the Bible that it is between a man and a woman and that is how it should stay, we do need some way of sharing the legal rights that married couples have. But I don't think getting married in a church is the way to acomplish this. (more of a money grabbing scheeme by the church)

Um, I'm not an expert, but I don't think the bible actually stipulates that marriage is between a man and a woman.

Although you should be careful, I think the bible says that slavery is ok but eating shellfish isn't.

And I think it also says something about chansing your appearance, and I dont' think that's your natural hair colour, is it?
