I'm not sure that I'd call it a "fetish" at all - it's just a preference. I think those who want to have fun with Asians, usually only want to do the same types of things "in bed" as with any other sexual partner they might have.

There may be some who would indeed do things differently with Asians - then I guess it would be a fetish. But I think most people prefer their own specific sexual practices (which may be limited, or extremely adventurous, or anywhere between), regardless of the background of who they're with.

My preference for Asian men is certainly not something I can explain. But why try? I don't need to consider what makes an Asian man Asian when I'm with him, I just know I like it more so than say, a white guy. But I still like white guys. And would have sex the same way!

I imagine that there are SO many factors in my brain chemistry that sexually attract me or not to another person, a preference for race only speaks to my longing for physical characteristics that the majority of said race tends to possess - which may or may not be present in a white, black, Asian, or Klingon fellow. I'm a young White male, and I find Asian men extremely attractive, particularly the tall manly looking ones. I do not consider this to be an Asian fetish, considering I'm attracted to other types of men as well as a particular body type. My 'preference' (which seems to be controversial in these forums) are exotic men with dark hair/eyes and tan skin, which can be any from Mediterranean men to Asian men.

It's not always "creepy old men over 40" that can be attracted to Asians, but young normal college guys as well.

Some of the things I said are not even really up for debate, since they are scientific facts that are demonstrable and thus not open to dispute. For instance, that Asian men are shorter and have lower levels of testosterone. These are morphologically and physiologically demonstrable facts that are not up to dispute.

As a white boy I must say that white youths, boys and girls, are considered the apex of Human attractiveness and desirability. This despite the fact that there are lots of extremely ugly white people.

But the evidence is overwhelming: black people, Latinos, Asians, Asian Indians, etc, all worship the Caucasian form. A lots of it has to do with the trauma of having been colonized and enslaved by white people, but even small children of other races find white people more attractive. There was that famous experiment where little black girls prefered to play with blond haired blue eyed dolls rather than black dolls.

As a white boy, I have received an enormous amount of attention from gay men and straight women of other races even though I am nothing special in terms of looks; just being white and young makes you instantly eye candy to foreigners. When I was in China with my parents 2 year ago, girls would look at me and giggle smiling at me all the time. White girls in southern Asia and also Africa cannot go out by themselves or they are certainly raped by men. I think I saw the statistics that 1 out of every 4 white women in South Africa has been raped by black men. Then there is the statistics that we are only 7% of the World's population and going extinct, so we white boys and girls are a lot more exotic to people throughout the World than they are to us.

Dduder, you speak alot of truth! I have to say that you are one of the most sane, realistic, and non-catty guys I have seen so far on these boards. I've never had a problem finding masculine Asian men....My ex was a body builder and a power bottom..How could I lose? Before him it was a whole host of masculine Asian men I've had dealings with. It is a stereotype and a generalization. First, you cannot use your personal experiences as a standardization of ideas concerning any group of people. Second, masculinity varies from culture to culture, subculture to subculture, person to person. What may not be masculine to you may be masculine to someone else. Personally, I have met several masculine, Asian men and they were purely Asian, according to some people's standards, so my personal experience has been different from yours.

That said, masculinity and femininity are subjective to their cultures and I really hate the stereotype that because I'm an Asian male I must know some sort of martial arts, lacking in emotions, socially awkward, a nerd, and a bad driver.

I've taken two years of Tae Kwon Do and that's about it. I'm majoring in General Science at the behest of my parents with 3 minors but the majority of my professional experience deals with event planning and fashion shows, lord knows I don't need to spend my days behind a counter. I play tennis, soccer, and I swim and occasionally ride horses. I'm not shy and I'm only introverted in the sense that I hate having to spend so much of my week at large social events that it gets tiring... but I have VIP access to the majority of clubs in my area but most of the time I'd rather be in a more intimate setting but I honestly feel pushed to be even more social when meeting people because I know for the most part they assume I'm some walking stereotype and I somehow represent my whole minority if I act a certain way.

Anyways, I forgot the point I was trying to make... but let's try not to make broad generalizations about a group of people. Not every Asian is some fresh-off-the-boat immigrant with broken English and some demure personality and anyone whose to be Asia can see the drastic changes in youth culture over there.

As far as stereotypes go, they indeed don't come from no-where. However, where they come from and how they are formulated are often problematic in credibility.
