Yeah the model(s) in those pics doesn't truly represent Asian ethnicity. He's obviously caucasian mixed which completely discounts him from this debate. A full blooded Asian is what I wanna see!

FYI, I also have a few half white-half Asian friends who seem to do very well for themselves. Let's just say they have better luck with white guys than the fully Asian blooded guys that I know. Maybe there's a mental block for non-asians to be attracted to multi-racial asians if where they're at least 'part white', then that's acceptable. I don't know? I don't fully understand the thought process?

For example the pics of the model you displayed would certainly catch the eye of those who aren't attracted to Asians than say pics of a model who IS fully asian. Capice?

It is my understanding some asian men are sensitive about there eyes. DON'T be.

Well I think a lot of Asians brought up in Western culture may feel this way if they made it through school alive. It's probably the first thing you get teased about (ask any asian, I think every Asian who grew up in a western society and attended school has been picked on at least ONCE) - the eyes are the first thing that is made fun of because it's the most identifiable physical trait that differs us from the rest. I used to get teased plenty in elementary school, mainly from kids who would stretch their eyes sideways with their fingers for starters. It gave me a small complex about my eyes but as I got older you learn to get past those things. But I certainly would understand if a lot of Asians didn't, preferably I think narrow eyes can be hot.

The only problem with this guy who you're showing pics of is that he looks to have more facial features that more closely resemble caucasian features, especially his eyes. I don't think he's fully asian; he looks partly hispanic/latino.

Huh? Which one? The middle two pictures are men of East Asia. I'm guessing that is what people think of when they think of Asians: Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans. The first and last pictures are of Thai men. Asians from Southeast Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc.) are underrated, and they mostly have round eyes, tan skin, and facial/body hair, which is associated with Caucasian features, so I can understand what you mean, but not all Asians have slanted eyes and hairless faces. The first picture is one of Thailand's well known stars, Ken Theeradej and he is full Thai.

I have appreciated most of the input here; apart from page 4 which turned into a private conversation riddled with sexual innuendos (but then perhaps a little light relief was required).

As someone who has, in his long life, not had a single contact with Asian guys it is interesting to read of other's experiences and thoughts on the subject.

This thread is one of the reasons I keep returning to JUB. I don't see it as an old subject re-hashed but rather as an occasion for different members to add different experiences and ideas to a topic. Where new comments may well open the eyes of other members and change their outlooks both on life and their own personal perceptions of it.

Damn, and I thought my first post here would encourage this thread to end..but..

please people..simple as it is..lets face the fact that:

1) stereotyping is for ignorant people who needs to go out more to see the world and interact with others, rather than staying home yapping about other ethnicity.

2) If you guys would read more on news and surveys, most Asian kids nowadays are growing up much taller, exceeding the stereotype that asians are short and petite.

3) Like all ethnic groups and races, there are always exceptions. Once again, stereotyping is nothing but BS, as the same with Assumptions. It only makes an Ass out of U and Me.

4) As much as we think we should, Asian men on JUB should not need to waste your time defending yourself. Majority of the people here have nothing against us, those minorities who does can go fuck themselves.

Those who are open-minded will like you nomatter of your race,ethnicity,sexual orientation, religion, etc. etc.

I only laugh at those who discriminates others not realizing that they too should be discriminated for who they are. Oh, the irony...

If you've been following up on the thread, you'd actually note quite a few members who litterally stated that they found this conversation productive and/or insightful. One even stated that it's threads like these that makes him want to come back to JUB; it was really thoughtful and encouraging to him.

It's interesting, however, that you few who want this thread to die continue to come back to post in it (like NameTaken).

Well, many of us are not going to stand for it, specifically false stereotyping.

When untrue stereotypes are instilled in a society's general mindset, we're not just going to sit around and do nothing, simply calling the stereotyper ignorant and call it a day; What does that do? Many like me find this thread to be the first step in social change of mind. It maybe a small step, but we have to start somewhere.

Point of fact is, most of the time, they're not at home with these stereotypes in their minds. They're out and about, and they socially affect many of us individuals of a racial minor. Why do you think gay communities, like Castro in SF, have race-segregated bars? Why is it that countless of times one would hear some of his non-white friends talk about incidents where people snicker behind their backs or outright make un-called for racial jokes in front of them, thinking that it's no big deal?

Why can't we have a discussion about the racial stigmatizations that some of us face? If we think it's a problem (and many of us do), shouldn't we express our views on the matter and let people be aware of them?

Sizzling, I know eactly what Vietnamese, Cambodian, Tai and Lausian people look like. I'm decented from two of these ethnicity, I would know.

I was mostly referring to the first picture. I can almost bet that that stud is either seimi caucasian or semi-hispanic.

I knew some asian men have a body image thing, wanting to look more "western" I thought that was an old school thing. But looking at the HOT guys being posted her i relies many of them look very western.

I also never knew that there is so much real and perceived racism over being asian in america.

Funny, except for the fact that me wanting to have a consolidated race discussion thread stickied to the top of the forum keeps it PERMANENTLY at the top of the page, thus giving the thread longer life (I'll make it simple for you, a longer life means it wouldn't die as quickly ) AND keeps the forums less cluttered. Funny (and miraculous) how you can actually fail to understand that simple idea.

1- Right. Because the 'fact' was not what I was originally talking about anyways. And I wasn't the one who cared so much about the topic being stickied, you were. You (and you alone) thought it was such a good idea, because you don't want to see it continually getting rehashed.

added- and btw, you, Name, have not made any statements that legitimately combats the fact that many other threads should be stickied for the same reason that you think this thread should be stickied.
