Gay boy voices

This is a notice to all gay men who have stereotypical gay boy voices.

Please do not worry about it. Do not beat yourself up over it or think it's a weakness. I don't care. I will date you. It has nothing to do with how good a lover you are or what type of person you are- either way. So please understand that it's no big deal. A lot of times I meet gay men that hate their gay voices and wish they had straight boy voices. Please do not. I also don't care if you have a lil lisp or are shy/passive.

You don't have to play it straight for me to be interested in you. =)

I've always wondered whether or not the biology behind it actually did connect with being gay or whether that is 100% stereotypical.

I would say the minority of gay people I know do not have that "stereotypical" voice and it's something perpetuated by the media.

And although I think some people will appreciate your kind words, I think I reserve every right to say that I find super fem voices a turnoff.

My voice is the exact opposite. That's helpful, because people don't relate deep voiced guys with homosexuality. As for guys with fem voice, I don't find it attractive either.

Define "naturally".

I have a pretty deep voice, but I've noticed that as I hang out with more gay guys, my voice tends to get the "gay accent" somewhat stronger. This isn't intentional. I think it's natural for us to absorb and reflect some of the mannerisms of those we spend time with. I've had friends spend months in another country, and come back with a new accent.

i've been told by others the reason i don't seem gay is distinctly because of my voice; i speak somewhat moderately, without any inflection and that i sound like i'm in awe or surprised a lot of the time. i get the "stoner/sufer" label thrown at me frequently because of it. sortof ironic because i personally feel i'm one of the most articulate and eloquent people i know. my voice is naturally deep too.

i've noticed that the gay friends i have who do have stereotypically "gay" voices speak quickly, with very strong articulation, emphasis on syllables, upward inflections at the end of their sentences and have slight lisps, almost as if too much spit has accumulated in their mouths while they spoke and they don't know what to do with it or something.

i think it has more to do with our nurturing than genetics. i'm absolutely positive i wouldn't talk the way i do if it weren't for me growing up with my dozen closest friends, being forced to watch the man show, jackass, south park, entourage with them, going to lacrosse camp every summer from age 11-17, and eating lunch with just my dad and brother every tuesday since i can remember.

I've been told I sound "normal" ...whatever that means. I guess I owe it to the fact that I too was around guys for most of my childhood.

For me, a guy's voice is mostly irrelevant.

However - I can go weak in the knees for a man with a rich pleasing baritone

I discovered the gay voice came with the gay attractions in my mid teens. I really, truely hated the uber-feminine way I sounded so I was simply repressed it all. When I talk now no one assumes Im gay, as my voice has no traces of a gay accent. Unfortunately, now I really dont know whats my actual voice - the flamer or the straightt guy.
