Gay for Pay - shock, horror...

Their only true sexuality is revealed when the go home and actually seek out a relationship. The people to whom they have the ability to be physically/romantically attracted reveals their authentic orientation.

The rest is just make-believe.

In short: (professional) porn isn’t real, people. ;)

Well said.

Acting a role remains just that.

Apparently there's a lot more money in gay porn, for men. In straight porn it's the women who make the big bucks.

I saw a documentary about the porn industry, and they talked to a straight porn star who was doing a gay scene with another straight guy. The director said, "it always sucks when both guys are straight"...

...In reality the actors are not murderers, nor for the most part, are they in actually in love one another.

Why should porn actors, who are also working for a living, be judged differently?
I don't question this, but I do think that there is a difference between sexual arousal being pretended without showing an erection, and suggesting that one is pretending sexual arousal with an erection that is sustained throughout some decent period of time (which for a straight man bonking another man would only have to be one minute). While the actors/models are playing story lines, they are not pretending to be aroused - they are aroused. I understand they use Viagra often, but even Viagra users still need to be interested to get it up I believe.

But isn't this just skirting the point that men who can get it up for another man are by definition bisexual or gay? They are queer because they can get hard and choose to screw with other guys. Whether they are paid is irrelevant - they get hard and screw other men.

And when they deny their sexual nature vocally to a straight identifying media audience, they choose to separate themselves from the 'othered' queer group, that group which is alienable and foreign. They use their queerness when financially profitable and then split for the hills and betray, in a real sense.

I noticed that most gay-for-pay men are usually found in hunk/jock porn. In twink movies they're less common and leather/bear quite rare (only solo scenes if at all).

So most gay men just have a boring taste in porn movies and want to be fooled ;)

Many, if not most porn actors receive a Caverject injection (1) directly into their penis to order to sustain an erection over a long period needed for shooting a scene.

A scene may take some hours to shoot in order to satisfy the director's requirements. This hardly encourages sexual ardour.

Acting out a role in a gay porn film remains just that. The porn actors act out their role for payment and not because they are sexually aroused by their partner.

I am sure that there are gay, bisexual and heterosexual porn actors who work in the gay porn industry.

I still don't buy it. I think (most) gay4pay dudes really enjoy gay sex. They are using the gay4pay label as if it was a free pass from some sort of curse of being gay. Or like a get out jail free card. "you can't call me a fag, I got a gay4pay card!". It's their lucrative ticket to have some sort of straight life but enjoy the gay sex without the stigma (or at least they think).

To quote Captain Jack Harkness: "You people and your quaint little categories." ;)

You can't have your dick and eat it, too. Once you start fucking your way through the ever-growing roster of gay porn models, you have to admit you're at least open-minded, i.e. a little bisexual.

The norm may very well be that most guys are "straight", but that never stopped them from fucking around behind closed doors throughout history. For some exhibitionist reason, though, the porn industry has brought them all out of the woodwork yet they're not ready to break their labels.

And please stop comparing porn to Hollywood, it's not the same thing.

It's all about the money, st porn the women get more, gay porn the men get more. What difference does it make as long as they get you off. It's all hollywood.

Depends on how much they're offering, but I'd totally do it.
I hate my current job and would love to do porn. Gay or straight. :sex:
The question is, are you comfortable if anybody found out and would try to use it against you in both your private life and future career?

Theatre, and cinema actors make love to one another, kill and maim one another on stage, or on screen with sufficient professional skill to make us believe that the action is real.

In reality the actors are not murderers, nor for the most part, are they in actually in love one another.

Why should porn actors, who are also working for a living, be judged differently?

I can't believe this. Porn is not acting or moviemaking: it's sex. Big difference.

You cannot have your cake and eat it too. If you have sex with men you are at the very least bisexual. There is no way that any man will get it up for another man unless he has at least some interest in him sexually. Any man who profits from gay sex and then claims it's all an act is fair game. Sexual politics must be played constantly if we are going to achieve an even playing field for straight and queer people, and nobody, no matter how cute, can be exempt from the play. I empathise with any gay man who has had a gut full of this bullshit that male porn models dish out regarding their so called straightness. It's like they believe their own spin.

And I agree with Sultan that once is credible - but I would think it amazing, sorry - ASTOUNDING - that any man who's really never had sex with another guy before would go on camera to have his image thrown right around the world of him having sex with a guy for the first time, with those pics and video never being retrievable. What curious guy would do that?
Excellent. I so agree. I think many people simply don't have a conscience anymore. BIG turnoff. I especially hate the "who cares" attitude that many viewers have regarding guys being honest about their sexual orientation. It's highly insulting for
us who have struggled to come to terms with their homosexuality or bisexuality.

Well said. You can't defend your civil rights while someone unrelated exploits your sexuality for money and gets a way with it. That is not normal.

I find it very disgusting I imagine this feeling is what it is like for extreme homophobics when they see two men holding hands. It's beyond my imagination why a straight man would choose to be in the gay porn industry. People say money, but are you so incompetent that you can't make money that you have to belittle yourself by doing something that is so far out there? It's the reason why I will never pay for gay porn and why all of my fav. pornstars have to be gay as hell. It's a major problem when majority of the gay porn industry identifies as gay-for-pay, but you have dumb fucks who will continue to buy it and defend it. Sigh. I give up.

I hear you, and I so agree.

Touché, Bulge.

And thank you for teaching me something ghastly about sexual readiness on a porn set, Kallipolis! ;) OMG, I have heard about these injections, but wouldn't have imagined people would use them like that. Too much.

I guess now the question I need to consider is where the fine line is drawn: Is a man still straight if he wants to engage in (extreme, extended) sex with another guy even though he needs to have a needle stuck into his dick to participate in that sexual experience? It does seem like a bit of discomfort to do something that you're already uncomfortable with for a pay packet if there were anything else at all you could do for money. I know that reads confused: I mean, if I wanted to have sex with a guy I was really attracted to and he told me I could if I would only let him stich a needle into my cock, I'd have to pass. Even if he offered me a really nice gift, as well as sex. :dead: Yep, the idea of the needle in the banana would stop everything.
