The only other gay forum I look at is at dudesnude, but that's exactly the opposite of what you're looking for. JUB is the best one I have found.

I don't know about the higher/lower caliber thing; but I can say I know of a gay forum with thousands of members who still have that general-discussion-mixed-with-porn-feeling jub used to have.
