nope. I wear them at the gym because they are more comfortable there. And when it gets really hot. It is just cooler. I have so many of them. I probably have around 50 of them. Pistol Pete used to make some very creative ones. But they mostly only do underwear and swimwear now. And the designs are not as good as they used to be.
 
I haven't worn sleeveless tank tops since I was 25.
 
The notorious remarks of one Boris Johnson about "tank top wearing bum boys" have, i'm afraid, soured the sex appeal of these garments, so now I just wear them under a dress shirt for added warmth.
 
When I was young, my mother used to make me wear them under my shirt during winter. When I got to about 12 or 13 I stood up to her and refused to wear them any longer. Haven't worn one since.
 
I guess I'm more of a neo-burlesque fan in the real world. Tank tops just seem a bit crude in public, away from althetic activities or water.

When a man with great shoulders wears a shirt with sleeves, long or short, it accents his build, making him more alluring, engendering a desire to see the clothes come off, in fantasy or reality.

It's a bit like the trashy fashions actresses wear with their breasts swinging around behind a few drapes in front, trying a bit too hard to be an item. Exposing underarms and sternum is an equal of that, reaching a bit far for polite society.
