Hey dudes,

Well I just thought I'd bring this to your attention. For the past couple of years I've met a lot of gay guys. The one thing they had all in common is a similar eye-gaze and actual same physical, structural look of the eyes. To me that makes it look like it has something genetic there. It has never failed once, it's basically my gaydar and every time I met a guy like that I found out later he was gay.

It seems their eyes stand out more, the color is generally very light blue or very light green, like they are more wet than the average guy's. In brown eyes' cases they tend to be really dark and really wet somehow.

Not only that but the structure around the eyes, the contour is relatively the same.

Any one else noticed it too?

I'm not so sure about the physical structure of the eyes, but the eye-gaze I agree is a common feature. I know what you're talking about.

Well I can tell you honestly I've had a 100% success rate with that technique guys.

I kid you not.

Im so glad you made this post. There is something abnormal about a gay mans eyes. I used to tell my friends that and they would think I am nuts. Its is true. Cant put my finger on it exactly what it is. Seems like many flamers are bug-eyed meaning there eyes sort of bulge outward.

Maybe it's not technically true. But maybe their eyes set-off some kind of psychic trigger in your brain. I dunno. :D

Hmmm.........:rolleyes"

I'd better be paying more attention to eyes from now....;)

Abnormal???

Actually, I'll agree, I can usually get a 'true reading' from the eyes, and even comparing porn pictures to real life guys I believe there is a certain tell in the size and shape ratio as to whether someone is actually gay or not. Certainly not everyone who is gay has those eyes, but I'm always very suprised when I meet guys who are adamantly and truly straight with that look.

As far as being more "wet", that is true as well and this time I can use some science. There was a study I read about a few years ago, I wish I could cite it directly, that found openly gay men blinked their eyes more slowly and less frequently than men who self-identified as straight. Although they still blink as fast as, well, the blink of an eye, their video equipment could detect a clear difference in the speed. This would seem to indicate that we produce more protective liquid, not requiring us to blink as often, and also because we blink slower, we recoat our eyes more evenly.

I remember, being deeply closeted at the time, fearing that the research team would make a gay detector out of it and a witch hunt would develop.

Anyway, I think the eyes tell, and even if they don't, it's good to be looking when he catches you and confirms with a smile or a wink.

every man in a straight bar that's had a couple drinks must be gay.

Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy! This is the line of reasoning that is routinely ridiculed in any scientific research. A moment's consideration will reveal that you have no way of knowing that any of the men you spoke to during this period who did not fit your pre-determined criteria were not gay also.

You say "every time I met a guy like that I found out later he was gay" - you should be asking "everytime I met a guy who wasn't like that did I later find out he was straight?".

By the way, had you considered that the frequency of wearing tinted contact lenses amongst gay men might explain the light coloured, wet-looking eyes?

Eye color has got nada to do with it. The manner in which a guy's eyes are arranged, how they look at others, and the "softness" is considered by some an indicator.
Gay men usually have softer eyes. This thing about "bulging" eyes, while I've seen it, it doesn't have to be directly corrollated to one's orientation.

Not sure which "there" you mean, but I guess I've noticed that all the gay guys I know seem to have rectangular eyes... but they're all kind of chubby, so I guess it doesn't mean much...

Where do you live that there are only chubby gay guys???

I think it's the nose. A gay guy's nose has a little more flare to the nostrils, especially when he smiles, unless there's a slight bump in the bridge of the nose, which could mean that he's straight, except when it's really a large bump, which might mean that he broke his nose but could also indicate that he is competely gay, but then a straight nose does not necessarily mean he's straight, because he could still be gay and maybe he had plastic surgery and then it's impossible to tell if he...

Oh, to hell with it!

there are no genetics for homosexuality, it would have been found by now.

All those eyes in those pictures look feminine. Is that what you are talking about? Is it possible that wearing contacts can make that appearance?
