I ran across this video after reading an article about Obidiah (this kid didn't have a chance -- he was Old Testament from birth...) Anyway, it is a sweet interview

Erm, I don't understand.

He said he was with the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and they're ALL perfectly comfortable (himself, his partner, and his church) with a gay marriage going ahead?

I thought they'd both be turfed out of their congregations, and, in any case, that they'd plump for 'remedial therapy' or something to turn them straight.

Confused.

I'm intrigued and still a bit mystified as to how gay Christians work it all out in their minds, but more importantly, it's clear to me how deeply in love these two are, just by the way they look at each other. I am thrilled for them!

That's very cool, they look really amazing together, and they're both hot too.

I want to see more LGBT people like them - out and proud.

I'd also like to see more religious institutions (Churches, Mosques, Hindu Temples, Synagogues, Pagan groups, etc) be more accepting of LGBT people too, as well as society in general.

That's so cute, I think I might cry. What an absolutely beautiful couple.

Here's an update to the video where Obidiah has started his work:

Gay clergy have become less of a novelty, with many state churches hiring homosexual pastors. But Ballinger's hiring — and the long process the church went through to hire him — is still a sign of a widening rift among area churches over the issue of homosexuality.

While some churches want to ban gay clergy, the Community United Church of Christ is going the other direction — hiring a male pastor who is married to another man.

"The congregation welcomed me with open arms," said Ballinger, 27, who was installed as pastor Jan. 23.

It's his first job as a pastor. He graduated from Yale Divinity School, where he met his future husband. They were legally married in Connecticut in May.
Ballinger is winning over the few skeptics left in the church. The first sign was a classic symbol of Minnesota-style repentance — home-baked cookies.

Thanks for sharing that youtube vid.. that was very touching and very sweet..

As someone posted ^, I too wondered if they kept themselves from having sex before thier 'marriage'.. but actually it dones't matter..
they are becoming a couple... good for them..

And as long as their commuinty accepts them, and they make a commintment to each other... what else matters?

God Bless them... :=D::=D::=D:

Great slide show. These two guys are so sweet they seem to be from a different century. Down to the glasses of milk for supper.

I wish them the best.

I know! The glass of milk was adorable. lol Their love seems so wholesome.

of course! they are christians after all

I feel compelled to state that I've met many couples who were not Christians whose relationship struck me the same way.

i wonder which one gets into the black sling and gets fisted? :rotflmao:

i bet it is javen, obidiah is the master for sure :=D:

Gross. I mean, "to each his own/do what you do" and all that shit, but, gross. You're using lots of smilies and stuff, but my spidey senses tell me there's a lot of bitterness and scorn behind your laughter.

they do look happy together. i'm all for that ..|

How come you keep making fun of them then?

because we all know christians only do the missionary position under the covers with the lights off

Huh. I must know some lusty Christians then. Not that they tend to go into great detail regarding what they do in bed (since they consider it sacred and not for public consumption), but I've talked to enough of them to know that they've tried pretty much everything everyone else has. I mean, maybe they don't think it's wise to disarrange eachother's rectums with their fists and forarms, but they're not milquetoasts, either.

i've tried not to

it is their christianity i laugh at and spoof.

Yeah, like I've said, I'm not sure how gay Christians work all that out either(believe me, I am intimately familiar with the scripture you quoted, and it's one of the main reasons I cannot call myself a Christian anymore) but at the same time I think their lives seem pretty courageous. They're pretty much defying a whole bunch of people to try to convince them that their love is any less sacred than anyone else's.
