I believe in equality in terms of making choices and in terms of paying for things, which is where I think it counts. I would never want to control him in any way, and if we had children I wouldn't want to differentiate between one of us as the father and one as the mother. But, in terms of day to day things, I always try to be chivalrous, and I don't see how that's contrary to equality at all.

But to answer your question, on a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is masculine and 10 is feminine, I'd say I'm probably a 3.5 and he's probably an 8.5.

For example, if someone is walking through a door, and someone else is right behind you, then you go through first, but leave it open for them, don't just bang it in their face. Letting women go first, giving up your seat for them etc..., for the simple fact that they are women, is contrary to equality.

I don't do these things for my boyfriend (his name is Michael, btw - I feel weird talking about him in the abstract) because he's a "woman", because I don't think of him as a woman; that would be sick. It's just the nature of our relationship. I think he is the most beautiful man around and so I consider myself his vassal, like a Medieval knight.
