Gay Night At Knott's Berry Farm - May 15th, 2009

There will be a gay evening event at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, which is just North of Dineyland in Anaheim.

The difference in this event is that I think the park is closed down for this event. At least that is what a friend told me. With Disneyland, there is more of a mixed crowd, with gay people wearing red shirts.

Odyssey Adventures is presenting the first official Orange County GLBT Pride Event to be held at Knott's Berry Farm® on Friday night May 15, 2009 from 7:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M.

Well, if it is truly a Gay night, open only for GLBTs, then it is discriminatory. When I was grwoing up there was one night set aside for Black people at the state fair. It was commonly know as "N-word Night". If this isn't a private, invitation only event where the park is rented for a night, then it is clearing illegal.

Oh gesh you guys...what I mean by that is that it is advertised as a gay event. Picky...picky...picky...

When people buy tickets for the evening, they know what the event is.

Everyone knows. I have been told that when you go to Disneyland, many people do not know. The Disneyland event is not officially recognized by Disneyland while the Knott's event is officially recognized. Like when people buy tickets to a pride festival, people know that it what it is.

I don't know about the Knott's family but Cedar Fair has owned the park since 1997

This part sucks: SEASON PASSES AND EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTS WILL NOT BE VALID FOR THIS PRIVATE EVENT. At least at Disneyland if you have an season pass you can still use it. Also Employee discount

LOL.

I remember getting the hotel at the disneyland hotel the women discretlely handed us the envelope. She almost forgot actually but she saw me wearing the red shirt and has her women instincts thingy and was like "Take this and don't tell anyone I gave it to you". Well she might as well have said that. And inside was the gay days information.

I was a bit surprised that disney did not recognize it. I am wondering what the experience will be of a park that actually recognizes it and welcomes it with open arms.

Although it seems people in CA are somewhat cliquish.

Still though. Always wanted to go to Knott's.

It's an interesting idea Metta.

The special event Tickets are purchased on the Odyssey Adventures web site not on the Knott's web site but they do send you the Knott's tickets pretty quickly:

Since it begins at 7, what do you guys think of possibly going out to dinner in that area before the event? Just a thought.
