He worked as an escort for a long time, and was a kept man for a bit, so I'm pretty sure he has bottomed plenty ...just not in porn.



The sad thing is that he was just another straight guy that compromised himself for money/drugs so much and so often that it completely fucked up his psyche.

Look how many gay4payers are doing the same things now and they aren't making near the money that guys like Ryan Idol, Ken Ryker, and Jeff Stryker made so sadly these guys are doing it for even less motivation.
 
Always sad to see a life in ruins... remember the story about his injuries some time ago... saw him in Making Porn... seemed like a nice guy... but no doubt could turn on the charm when he needed to. Did not know he batted for the other side... whatever the cause sad for him and the woman involved... no winners in situations like that... no doubt drink and other substances involved....

A lot of these guys despite their glossy looks... have come from and live on the margins... self esteem must be low... and in the end they get very little respect.. they are seen as commodities and eventually that must get to them.. sad...

Kinda morbid, but is there a list of all the gay porn stars who've been convicted of murder or other serious crimes? Right off the bat, I can think of Ted Cox, Tim Lowe, Tim Barnett, those two guys who killed the porn producer, etc.
 
The Tumultuous Fall of an Idol.

Not sure what you mean about Ryan Idol being the second biggest porn star? Who was/is bigger? At the height of his career Ryan "Anthony" had become, and as far as I know still is, the highest paid actor in gay porn ever. He earned while filming his last film "Idol in the Sky" a record fee of $25,000! Just for only two days of shooting. No one before then, nor I believe, since then has ever been paid such an impressive fee for staring in a porn video.

I was a close friend of Anthony's during those years (late 90's) and saw close-up what the life of such a "successful" porn actor was all about. From all of the excesses of that lifestyle, along with the adoration of so many fans, down to the life altering suicide attempt in NYC back in March 1998, Anthony lived one wild roller-coaster ride of a life.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen nor spoken with him for some five years now or so and am really hoping that he can, like so many times before this, find the will to survive and to get through this terrible chapter in his life. And to be able to put this all behind him some day. But sadly I fear that for the first time in his life, he may not be able to overcome the awful situation he now finds himself in.

I've seen only a few of his movies and didn't think they were all that great, but maybe the ones I saw weren't among his better scenes. Still, I liked him. He was VERY pretty back in his time.

I don't think he'll be all that popular in prison. He's not exactly what I would call 'old' but he hasn't aged well at all. I don't think they'll bother him.
 
He was hot as fuck then and easily could command that price. Probably in the top 5 or 6 best looking guys who've ever done gay porn (sraight or not).
 
A few years ago, porn star Blade Thompson and his girl friend were living in Palm Springs. They began having three ways with Ryan Idol. Then she dropped Blade for Ryan. Blade could not accept it and began harassing her. He spent six months in jail awaiting trial then he was let out on probation, on condition that he avoid her. He promptly called her and was returned to jail, eventually deported. I had met Blade when he was escorting and spoke with him several times in jail. The rest I heard from another porn star.
 
congratulations to him for being convicted. hopefully he can be rewarded with a lengthy prison sentence where he'll also receive a bonus of raw hot prison sex sponsered by lube made from butter and hiv.
