You know, I have more hope for the future than this. I think this too will change. Don't you think that this will ultimately change?

Terrence Howard Thinks We'll Never See An Openly Gay Rapper

Actor Terrence Howard fears there will never be an openly gay rapper - because African-Americans would refuse to accept such a performer. The Oscar nominee, who played a pimp-turned-rapper in hit film Hustle & Flow, admits he's appalled by the homophobic, misogynistic culture of rap and hip-hop, but even he has had to come to terms with homosexuals.
The actor says, "Do I agree with homosexuality? No, I'm a bible based young man. But I know the bible also speaks about homosexuality with liars, adulterers, thieves. I've lied, I've cheated on my wife, I've stolen so how can I judge somebody for something that's mentioned in the same exact scripture? I believe we're all sinners. We're all trying to make it but our hip-hop
community are a bunch of hypocrites right now."

am i the only one annoyed by howard's comments? it's paramount to me saying that i don't agree with people being black. what the fuck?

First of all, Howard did not say he doesn't agree with people being black. Secondly, why the fuck would he say anything like that when he is a black man himself. (Learn how to read) Being Gay in the Black community has never been the norm of acceptance. A Gay Rapper more than likely will never find acceptance or success in Rap Music.
First of all, your repsonse to Smakelijus was very rude. You didn't get what he was saying. Smakelijus meant that Howard saying he didn't "agree" with homosexuality (and that it's a sin) would be like Smakelijus saying he didn't "agree" with being black (that it was wrong somehow to be black.) Howard compared gays to adulterers. That's like comparing blacks to criminals. That would be a racial slur, just as Howard's comments were a gay slur.

There already is a gay rapper. I don't know who he is though. It was on the news years ago.

He did say it was a sin, but at least he went on to mention other things that are sins that he has actually done, so I'd like to think that's the start of a mind opening. Sort of.

first of all crisco, stop implying we can't read. what we have is a different interpretation of howard's words. all i'm saying is that i had as much control being gay as i did being 6'6", caucasian, and blue-eyed (and him being black). if you can't engage in a constructive conversation where you listen to and consider different opinions respectfully, then i suggest you leave jub.

LOL there are already like 3 that i can remember.. can't remember their names tho.. i don;t enjoy rap that much so whatever....

they are openly gay.. and rap.. they just aren't really popular cus no str8 guys wanna hear a guy talking about sucking a cock... himself....

I'm all for a gay rapper especially if he looked and had a body like The Game; but i doubt he would get music played on the radio.

Is the world really ready to buy music/ or listen to a grown man singing/ rapping about his love for a man, and how guys are hot.

I just don't see that happening. Maybe he could get played in gay clubs and underground but it wouldn't go mainstream.

oh sweet lord...howard is not defending us. who is he lumping us together with? and smakelijk would be a dutch word...dutch is a foreign language (which, btw, i can read crisco).

I agree with T-Zer. I didnt actually read the whole article, but from what I read, he wasnt condemning homsexuality at all. Not to mention, the article is about HOW it is sad that there will never be a openly gay rapper.

I think yall forgot the first sentence of the artcle.

No, I am annoyed too.

That "we are all sinners" line is exactly what homophobic, bigoted Christian Fundamentalists always say.

So Howard is talking out of both sides of his mouth.

With "friends" like him, gays don't need any enemies.

Yes, he's "defending" gays with his comments, but he is ALSO saying he believes in the Bible which equates homos with other sinners. He "won't judge." No, not much!

It's infuriating to have people say "We are all sinners." FUK YOU, speak for YOURSELF.

I am NOT a sinner because I'm gay. And don't put me in the same group as adulterers, liars and thieves.

WTF?

Oh my gosh. I can't believe how crazy Qboy sounds like......

That's so funny.....omg, he sounds so.......british and gay. I guess I'm used to north American rap music.....but he sounds so whack.

It's horrible. It hurts. But he's kinda of cute.

I think I see the appeal.

Wait a sec: He just said "Don't bring me down, cause I am high"? He sounds like a cross between Oprah and SugarRush.

ok wait. 1 in 4 or 5 people are gay. so im pretty sure that ALOT of rappers are gay. why do you think that because a rapper is gay, he raps about sucking dudes off. hell i wouldnt listen to that, thats not music. i dont like rap personally, but i relate it to rock and roll. lots of people didnt think freddy mercury was gay. he didnt sing songs about sucking dick or anything. the dude from judas priest was gay. they didnt sing about being gay. im sure alot of rappers out there who are famous are gay, that doesnt mean they have to rap about it or let others know anyway. its their own buisness. who cares if a rapper is gay or straight or anything, it should be about the music.
