Because they don't care about the gay community or issues. "Bisexual" men who date men and want to involved with the gay culture, and be with men, are going to eventually identify as gay. "Bisexual" women who date women and want to be involved in the gay culture, and be with a woman, will identify herself as lesbian.

"Bisexual" people who might be attracted to the same sex, but see themselves being with someone of the opposite sex, and want nothing to do with the gay community, and in some cases find the fact they are attracted to the same sex disgusting or perverted, will just say they are a curious or open minded straight person. All of these above people in my opinion are Pansexual. Pansexuality is where you are attracted to many facets of people and genders or sexuality. But it's not a standalone sexuality. It's more of a sub-addition, and Pansexual cisgender people, are either Straight or Gay. You are either Straight, or Gay. I'm sorry, that's just my opinion.

It is interesting that Jason Farone who enjoys having sex with women does NOT want to identify as bisexual. I am guessing for Farone he feels emotionally attracted more to men and have a romantic relationship with another man and that is why he identifies as gay. Just like the straight guys who have sex with men often will not identify as bisexual either they view themselves as heterosexual yet have sex with other men. There seems to be this refusal for these people to see themselves as bi. Maybe it is because for some people bisexuality is like LIMBO or purgatory a place which is undefined and unknown. I think eventually people pick one end of the spectrum or the other in their lives they eventually identify as gay or straight. Bisexuality exists but for some people they feel like it is not a clear identity they want to identify with.
