  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Gaydar or Manhunt?

I think it depends on your location. Here in NYC I do both but find that the men on Manhunt are usually really on the prowl and ready to connect . . . and usually hotter!

>>>I'm not actually looking for anything.

Then I wouldn't bother with either, since they're meant for people who are.

Then I'd go back to my original answer - "Why not double your chances?" - but leave the you as the indefinite second person plural.

I guess it depends on where you are located, then. I had great success with Manhunt in the Northwest Arkansas area when I was in my hookup phase (not that I am out, I just have been, uh, celibate for a few months). I met about nine or ten guys off Manhunt, and they were all what they advertised, and were ready to go after maybe two e-mails and a telephone call. If I wanted sex, I had plans in about an hour at the most.

I even ended up meeting a man who was my first real boyfriend, and who remains a great friend and social contact. So don't write it off... only advice I would give is to just be real and go for it. If you actually make the effort to say 'hey, let's actually do this,' and write up a good, thoughtful, enticing profile, guys will respond. Unless I am just drop dead gorgeous, which may or may not be true.

Which is better, and why?

I have a gaydar profile (http://gaydar.co.uk/winterknight01 if anyone's interested) but I hardly ever go on there 'cos I just get the piss taken. Never been on the other.

Just wondering about your take.

Ladslads makes a mockery of them both. Waay waaaay better. I actually see gay guys I know on that, that's how popular it is. On manhunt there'll be maybe ten people from my area online at any one time. On ladslads there's page after page.

Not trying to do product placement, but it really is better. :P
