I guess I'd like a little more evidence than one study that condradicts numerous studies that state the polar opposite, and years of professional psychologists wisdom.

I'm in a long distance relationship. So during the School semester I'm celibate. I love that I don't have to worry about catching anything or my name being spread around the School. Celibacy is fun in my opinion. It's also funny to see how hard guys try to persuade you to break it. Even when i tell them I have a BF..that seems to be encouraging for some reason. Me and my hands are best friends!

I never said that I am celibate. I believe that a gay man can work within the Church for the neccessary changes from within to bring about real Justices for the rest of the LGBT Community. Hatred will not solve any of the problems or issues. When hate fights hate, then it is a no-win war, ie; no body wins. You cannot fight hate with hate....It can only be sucessfully fought with Love.

Funny, I could have swore you said you were celibate a while ago. In any case my point still stands. You are involved with a political movement masquerading as a religion, that causes the death of people like us every day. And take your mad Yoda-like platitudes elsewhere. Hate is a positive emotion. I've done hook-ups. Sometimes I wanted them, sometimes I felt like I needed them.

I'm not sorry. I've got to the point in my life where sex is not a big sacred thing; I am able (and happy enough for now) to distance the concepts of sex and love; I understand they can be mutually inclusive or exclusive. I've been through periods of no sexual activity, but always out of circumstance and not choice (in other words, I don't equate single and celibate as synonyms in the least).

I'm perfectly happy to be single. I'm not happy to be celibate - hence hook-ups and like-minded FWBs. Does that make me relatively promiscuous? Not at all, if you read some of the stuff on JUB; but yes according to the replies in this thread (I mean in terms of attitudes to sex; not in that they were judgemental).

OP, good luck with what you decide. You clearly get your jollies in other ways, and so fair play to you.

Nah, I need sex man. I've been in a relationship for nearly two years so sex has been plentiful, but when I was single I would snap after maybe a week of not gettin' my hole.

I myself am celibate by choice, not because of others fucking around but because of my fucking around...and i may have missed the most wonderful man I've ever met.

So there is definitely something to being celibate in my opinion.
