Answer me this then. Do you think religion is uncorruptible? Because if i look back at Christianity, you'll notice a bleak history, full of things modern Christians would call unchristian. Your beef is with Muslims, not Islam because Islam doesn't say hang gays.

So what if it's the 21 century? Most third world countries are not only poorer, they're behind on civil rights and political freedom. Not to say that the rich countries are great and free. It's all relative.

It's not just the government, it's the people. Obviously the majority of the country has to be in on this.

Guess what, Bush's government doesn't represent my views but they were reelected by the majority. So more than half of voters voted for the current government. It's silly to but the blame on the government when it's the people who put them in charge.

I take exception to Iran being a "third world country" also the Persian people/culture been around 2500-3000(?)yrs way longer than "Western."

what pisses me off is how people generalize everything...why the entire religion??.....if you look at all the other religions they have extremist just like muslims.....how do you expect people to accept gays when you do the same thing as they do…..think before you post.....just like when you find it offensive when some one putts down all gay guys because of something another gay guy or even a group of gay guys did ...you're doing the same when you put down an entire religion because of what you've read or heard about what a group or even a country did.....it's not the only place muslims live......so the reason for what happens there is the people that live there and run the place….
