Gays within your family

I have about 35 first cousins. I'm the only gay guy as far as I know.

I do have a step-cousin that agreed to get fucked in the ass in prison. The way he described it to my older brother, there was no pressure of force or rape. He's probably bi. But being a step-cousin doesn't prove anything as far as genes go.

I don't know about my dad's side, but on my mom's side, our grandma tells us stories about our family when she grew up. I always wonder if any of them were gay. She talks about an aunt she had who lived with her female friend and they never married or had kids.

I have supicions about like 3 or 4 of my cousins. I'm almost sure one of them is a lesbian and as for the others maybe bi or something. But as far as I know for sure, it's only me.

As far as I know I'm the only one whos gay, our family is pretty big on my Dad's side but we don't really get along with eachother...

On my mums side, we're REALLY small but I do have a distant cousin who I suspect is gay, he's in his mid 20's and a dancer (mostly ballet).

Surprised to see so many of you have gay relatives

I come from a big family myself but I'm the only one that I know or suspect. Although my sister is a hasbian.

Also a lot of unmarried older aunts/uncles but that doesn't necessarily mean anything, a lot of people didn't get married from that generation in the rural area where I live.

There may be a genetic basis, but I think it is more complicated. Studies of idenitical twins reared apart have shown they have a 50% concordance rate with respect to homosexuality. If gayness was truly genetic, then there would be a 100% concordance. That said, if gayness was in no way predetermined, the concordance rate would be about 5-10% (or whatever the naturally occuring chance level is).

I personally think it is mostly to do with whatever hormones you are/are not exposed to in utero. Which means being gay is predetermined but not exactly genetic.

I've often wondered this as well. As far as I know, my older sister is a lesbian and that's it. The rest of my family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins, isn't worth mentioning since most of them are asses.

I kept reading about how some people had gay uncles -- all my uncles are douchebags. Seriously. (well, maybe not all, but quite a number of them are)

It feels very lonely, sometimes.

I know what you mean. There's no one to relate to, who knows what you're going through, who can tell you what to expect in life. Such is the life of gay people, unfortunately.

As far as I know, me. But we all have our suspicions about a cousin and three uncles.

The most recent science I've read on the matter suggests that gay is combination of nature and nurture but is established very early on.

Sometimes I hope that someone else in my family is Bi or gay....it does ge lonely...

Cousin (whom i've never met but want to) is a lesbian
Great Uncle is gay
2nd Cousin who is gay

All of the above are on my Mom's side. No one on my Dad side is gay as far as I know or at least they are not out if they are.

My mother and I are both pansexual. My youngest great uncle on my mothers side was out as gay. A great aunt was said to have a female roommate that she shared a bed with since they lived in a one room house at the time, but most of the family thinks they lived there so they could sleep together and have a reason. After her roommate passed she married. Other than that I am certain my oldest nephew is gay and I know one of my younger cousins is trans.

one of my aunts is bi, and my little brother is bi as well. i think my stepsister's son may be, but hes too young to tell

mom's male cousin, dad's brother, 1st female cousin on dad's side .. and my future husband.

Not close to my mom's side of the family, dad's side there are 2

dad's cousin- lesbian

dad's cousin- gay ( passed away last year at the age of 71)

I have a very small family lol

I have a gay uncle on my dad's side. I hate when my mom gets mad at me and compares me to him just because he is gay. Its just dumb !!

She always says that there are no gay people in her family so therefore me being gay is not her fault. This summer, I met a cousin who comes from her family who was gay. It was funny telling my mom ha ha lol

Me and my sister both are.

One female 2nd cousin from paternal grandfathers side.

One male 2nd cousin from paternal grandmothers side.

One male 2nd cousin from maternal grandmothers side.

That I know for certain.

I had a great uncle, I have several cousins (my moms first cousins) both sexes, Myself of course...I have a nephew that is out and proud. at family reunions, we have our own gay pride corner

the ones i listed are all on my fathers side. aand it seems to skip a generation now and then. my fathers mother has some on h but i know 2 identical twin and the first was gay for sure and his brother is str8 asan arrower side.

not that this matters

Lets see... on my moms side of the family....

My grandmothers brother... never married, lives with a guy for 20+ years, one of my moms sisters sons is bi and one other one I suspect is gay because we fooled around a few years ago and he's never dated any girls and has a "close" guy friend as his mom describes. My moms dad had a sister and brother that never married or had children and as I recall the brother was a bit flamboyant.

As for my dads side... nothing because he was adopted but I'll tell you something my dad had a fascination with watching porn and loved twinky/buff looking guys. Hmmm...

Of the sixty odd aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, brother and sister, as far as I know I am the only one.
My family does not think kindly of gays.
