How does this work? One day you feel like a man and another day you might feel like a woman?

Someone please explain it to me.

Next you'll be doing a cut uncut thread. Haven't we beaten this topic to death yet?

Same as sexual fluidity. Except people don't care as much where you pee. :)

So I get how sexuality can be fluid, like your appetite, it's intangible and it fluctuates. But physical aspects? Height, shoe size, gender, how can they be naturally fluid?

As long as the fluids are cum and pre-cum, it's all good.

I have always been for freedom of choice. But I say pick one and stay with it. Don't keep flip-flopping around.

I've talked to several people who are trans. I've followed one woman's struggle to transition. One of my friends has a young child who identifies with the opposite gender. And I've talked with one or two who identify as gender-fluid.

It's not an easy thing to get a grip on. It digs deep into the very concept of what a gender actually IS. I don't exactly know what about me is "male". (It apparently isn't just the dangly bits, or transitioning wouldn't be a thing.) And even they have trouble really putting it into words. But because they're experiencing it, they can feel it. They recognize that their gender isn't true nailed into place.

As a cis-gender guy, I struggle to understand. But the point is I DO struggle. I DO try to understand. And I'm positive they understand it far better than I do.

It has to do with neuro physiology and hormones. And social conditioning.

Some people are very gender fluid. Others not so much.

It's easy to be a Cross-dresser. You just put on a dress. And expect the world to rearrange themselves to fit in with your imagination.

But it gets messy when you start making wacky claims about yourself and expect people to pay you money to be spokesperson for this and that; for example —

Gender isn't physical.

My 2000 Tenth Edition Merriam-Webster Dictionary lists the first three definitions of "gender" as grammatical terms. The fourth is a synonym for sex <the feminine -->, the fifth is "the behavioral , cultural or psychological traits typically associated with one sex". I believe the fourth and fifth definitions are relatively new, perhaps less than fifty years old.

So far I've limited use of the word "gender" to the earlier definitions regarding grammar.

Trans people transition from one gender to another... so if "gender isn't physical", what's the point of the hormonal treatment and surgical procedures then?

A thought: they want their apparent sex to be correspond to their perceived gender, to use the new definition of the word. I assume that earlier transsexuals, such as the famous Christine Jorgenson, would have said that she wanted her apparent sex to correspond to her perceived sex.

Gender isn't physical.
Yes.

The Penis and the Clitoris and all those dribbly hormones are just nasty figments of the disturbed mind. We must suppress and ignore them.

Some of this reminds me of straights deciding if gays were "born that way", how in the hell would a straight know what is going on in a gay person's life?
But, what the heck, we'll figure it out and let the transgendered people know what they are like.

1960s the cool kids (attention seekers) claim to be heterosexual.

1970s the cool kids (attention seekers) claim to be homosexual.

1980s the cool kids (attention seekers) claim to be bisexual.

1990s the cool kids (attention seekers) claim to be asexual.

2000s the cool kids (attention seekers) claim to be transexual.

2010s the cool kids (attention seekers) claim to be beyond sexual/gender fluid.

I can hardly wait to see what the 2020s have to offer.
