George W. Bush Supports Mitt Romney

The only regrettable thing was that it was a quick passing comment as opposed to a formal endorsement. Evidently, Mitt has welcomed the former President's support. Now, why do I get this sneaking suspicion that that Mitt would not be comfortable with an actual formal endorsement from Bush, in front of all the TV cameras?

Earlier Tuesday the 43rd president told ABC News "I'm for Mitt Romney," as the doors of an elevator he was on closed before him.

The remark was the first public support from the former president, whose father, former President George H.W. Bush and mother, Barbara endorsed the presumptive GOP nominee in March.

did you know that 342,000 americans in april 2012 gave up looking for work? you know how many got new jobs? 115,000

3x as many people EXITED the workforce than entered

The unemployment "rate" has been > 8% for 3+ years

April 2012 was a particularly bad month

and that doesn't include "underemployment" which is chronic

our debt is out of control with no end in sight

and gas prices are fucked

^ Sometimes I think the best that can be said of Obama is that he didn't make things worse. But a third of his stimulus bill was actually well spent, and the big reason he hasn't gotten anything done is this pit of toxic quicksand known as the House of Representatives.

The sad thing is that thanks to them, we'll never know if Obama was a good or bad president; he's mainly been a blocked president.

And you think somebody is going to wave the magic wand to fix the republican mess? The economy has been in steady recovery. It hasn't been another boom, but quite steady. You rely mostly on republican talking points with little substance behind anything else you say. You don't understand the economic situation, and you manipulate figures to fit into your own agenda. And then you expect "Mitt Romney" to have all the solutions? Please.

This economy is recovering from one of the WORST recessions since 1929. And you expect everything to get better in just 4 years to a stage of a boom? There are problems in this country, and I never said it was peachy... but you rely on the same old recycled talking points and manipulated statistics... things are clearly not bad. The economy is recovering... but things are not going to improve overnight to prior levels as you demand. Much of the job growth is significant and substantiated enough to push a solid recovery.

Your points on debt is moot... republicans have increased the debt far more then Obama.

Kulindahr is right. You just repeat what Eric Cantor says. Republicans are doing next to nothing to help the economy and they don't have any ideas.

Maybe I should take a lesson from others and just ignore you once and for all... and stick to my word.

As for this famed "recovery" ....... here's a few more facts for you - try to digest

On President Obama's watch we've borrowed $5 trillion
We have a whopping 1.7% GDP growth
$4 per gallon of gas
Unemployment rates that don't suggest recovery

During his first 2 years of office where he had it all baby - the senate, the house - the holy trinity

he decided to:
"stimulate" the economy
create obamacare

0 for 2

we don't need a magic wand - we need a steady hand and a leader - let's do the Buffet rule is not leading - it's dividing

now back to GWB - as with many things time softens opinions and often changes them

I think it's already happening

as many are experiencing Obama fatigue

maybe in GiancarloLand, the economy is booming and gas is cheap (do you drive??) and people are not exiting the workforce at 3x the levels others are entering

maybe in GiancarloLand, small businesses are thriving under the heavy hand of Pres. Obama who thinks they're all "millionaires" and need to pay more in taxes
