BREAKING: Geraldine Ferraro, first woman and Italian-American to run on national ticket, dies at 75 - NBC | More: http://sms.msnbc.com

I've had my differences with her, but I'm sad to hear she died.

Cry your heart out Iman.

I'm sorry to hear this today.

I thought she was an interesting and groundbreaking woman in politics.

My condolences to her family.

A pioneering woman.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John A. Zaccaro, three children and eight grandchildren.

RIP, Geraldine Ferraro. *wave*
I respect her groundbreaking decision to accept the Vice-Presidential nomination. She was smart, articulate, courageous and certainly helped to "level the playing field" for all women and a living terror for white Republican men.

Regrettably, I received a terrific (horrible?) demonstration in true misogyny by her opponents. She was one of the many victims of "Republican dirty tricks" and their vicious tactics: case in point: claiming that her husband John A. Zaccaro, was tied to organized crime. Republican slime machine at its worst.

Thanks for all you did for our country. ..|

Pretty pathetic that you have to exploit her death in order to bash Republicans. But since you brough it up, he did he ties to organized crime. And the fact of the matter is he had sleazy business practices.

My prayers go out to her family. I always enjoyed listening to her commentary on FOX News. My admiration for her rose even higher after she courageously crossed party lines and fought in defense of Sarah Palin from the vicious attacks she fell victim to during the 2008 presidential campaign.

I saw a clip today that during her debates with George the first, he tried to explain to her the difference between Iran (he says it this way "ear-ran" ) and the embassy in Lebanon.......
Well, here, you watch and judge for yourself...

the woman was priceless, RIP

ABC News just broadcast an article about her, with a line that said - in essence - "It was women like Ferraro that paved the way for other women such as Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin."

#-o

I about gagged.

To mention Ferraro ( whom I wasn't a tremendous fan of, but still an educated and erudite woman) and the idiot, money-grubbing bitch Sarah Palin in the same breath is enough to make my head explode.

She was a rare and honorable political icon in an all too often sleazy part of Americana. Many on both sides could see that; those who refused to may be part of the sleaze.

Whether you agreed with her politics or not, she conducted herself honorably. That's more than we can say for most of what runs the country these days. RIP.

Did not know - saw her face on TV and thought she was commenting on something in the news

75 - too young

RIP

I can think of a few other things that are "pretty pathetic."

I have several questions:
1. Did John A. Zaccaro ever commit a crime, i.e. were any laws broken?
2. Was he ever indicted?
3. Was there any evidence to indicate malfeasance?
4. Did proof of guilt ever result in a conviction?

I just wrote these as an adjunct to the U.S. Constitution - that radical far-left document that you find so repugnant. Here in America, there are still a few of us who believe in due process.

I might add, Frank Sinatra was forever tied to organized crime, but I could ask the same questions about him. Of course he was a good friend of your buddy Reagan so he must have been innocent of any wrongdoing!

P.S. How's my spelling, big guy? :p
