Getting Nervous About Posting..

There are so many thread about poor spelling and grammer, that I'm getting nervous about posting.

I'm from Isreal, I have been a proud American now for 8 years, but I still struggle at times with spelling and making myself clear.

Cut me some slack guys, I'm doing my best...

Every time someone mentions it, I get all paranoid and nervous... LOL

I've never had any problem understanding what someone was trying to say on JUB, even with incorrect spelling. It doesn't bother me a bit if someone's grammar isn't perfect. Of course there are some people that shit twinkies if they see a post with bad grammar. I assure you that I will not shit twinkies.

Here, I went and asked the top guy to send you a letter.

From the Desk of the Grammar Police
Chief E.N. Glish

Dear Mr. Herenthere,

On behalf of the grammar police of JUB, we wish to inform you that we do not make a habit of assaulting those to whom english is a second, or third, language.
Our main job is to find those whom only speak english and enforce a better grasp and understanding of this terrific language.

We also wish to inform you that we are also able to render help, should you seek it out and have time for someone to proof read your post for you.

We're not out to get everybody, just the ones who deserve it.

Sincerely ,
Edward Nigel Glish
Chief of the JUB Grammer Police Division

herenthere: if all my students were at your level, I would be out of work for the rest of my life.

The threads about spelling and grammar usually focus on those who make no effort whatsoever. More often than not they're native speakers who are too lazy to make themselves understood.

It's about communication, not perfection.

I agree with this completely.

I would never hold a non-English speaker to task for making an honest mistake. It's the people who deliberately type like ---

i h8 ppl hu r 2 lzy 2 evn try

In fact, the people who post from foreign countries use much better English than most of the native speakers!

Please continue to post. I hope we see you around here for a long time! ..|

English is not my native language either, I fuck up all time, who cares, just have a lot of fun on JUB..|

I realize you've already been quoted once but I must say that I agree. As has already been stated, the frustration, as I see it, lies with native speakers who make repeat glaring errors and/or write as if they were text messaging. Having said that, my own English is not perfect and I have to write all the time!!

Luckily my english is like, so perfect i'd never be pulled up for like, ya know, bad grammer and I wouldnt pull you up eather, herenthere.

Go four it. To many guys get upset ovar the little thengs.

i think...sometimes folks on this board take themselves too seriously by half. this is a message board, not a literature or language course nor an english composition class. i care very little how other people think i spell or write here. i'm a biologist with a masters in zoology and 95% of my day is spent writing legal documents for the federal government. i know what a sentence fragment is, i know what i a run on is, and a comma slice, and god, a million other things. however, if i feel like typing in incomplete sentences, don't run spell check, or i type in all lower case letters while i'm on here...well frankly i don't care if anyone else likes it or not. if you don't like it, don't read it. move along little doggy i say. :gogirl:

so...herenthere, just be at ease and don't worry about what you type or how it looks. just be yourself. (!)

that's my two cents worth.

hellew, wyh woyrr about yuor spllelings when i'm wrost than you?!

have fun here and we'll cut you lots of slcak.....LOL.

LUV YA TOO :luv:
