Hmm. Used to be the director's cut (as opposed to the re-release snipped up by the studio) of Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo & Juliet, but I haven't seen it for a long time.
For now I'll give my favorite movie of the past few years, which is Parasite.

I was afraid you'd ask me that.
Used to be Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita, but its sexual politics irk me now. (I still love the retelling of Jesus and Pilate and the Crucifixion.)
Maybe one of Salman Rushdie's, though there are four I can't choose between just now.
Special mention for Mary Renault's The Mask of Apollo and Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall.
And there's actually a novella here at JUB, in the Erotic Stories section, that kinda got to me, and I've been wondering if I should recommend it to the guys here.
