"Getting to know you...

My laptop is six years old. It’s the one with the battery charging issue, so I try not to use it unless I really want or need to.

I’d might as well say that my iPhone is my second computer, since I’m suddenly using it a lot to get on the internet to avoid using the MacBook with the battery charging issue. I got it later the same year, so it is also about six years old. I’ll have to say using it is a pain in the ass with the small screen, websites that don’t display all features, and that also require me to go through two-factor verification every damn time I visit the site.

Have you done your family tree? Can you go back at least three generations, or are there gaps in the tree? As in, for example, you just don’t know who your grandfather was?

I have. I've traced all of my ancestors back to at least the early 1800s. I think I've linked my father's line to someone else's tree. I should really double check that because, if true, it takes me back to the 1300s. I've traced my mother's line back to the 1640s. In the 300 years between then and my mother's birth, the family managed to move all of 15 miles.

No

Do you have smart tv?

Yes, but I don't know how to use the so-called smart features, so it was a bit of a waste of money!

Are you techno-phobic?

Vacuum tubes were those tubes in the back of the set that glowed dull orange when the set was on, and you had to replace them when they burned out. Transistors made them obsolete.

Yes, I remember 78 rpm records. In fact, I still have a few (though nothing to play them on).

Do you have an old cake mixer?
