"Getting to know you...

Only one? I'll go with European

Is there a porn performer that you don't like at all? For me it's Drew Dixon :(

Neither. Mine tend to be egalitarian. (And I promise I don't mean that to be as self-righteous as it may sound.)
edited to add: Vanilla! The word I should have used is vanilla.

Do your fantasies tend to involve people you've known or people (such as celebrities) you've never actually met?

A cozy little studio (37 square meters) with disparate furniture, quite a lot of books and some plants, where I really feel at home

Would you live in a place like this?

No.

How far away do you live from your immediate family members?

I have a Sigmund Freud action figure that a colleague in Vienna sent me!

I would totally get one of the Philadelphia Orchestra's Yannick Nézet-Séguin bobblehead dolls, except that the likeness is really bad. And I share with my buddy an Osmo Vänskä doll from his Minnesota Orchestra years -- instead of his head bobbling, his conducting arm goes up and down, baton in hand.

When was the last time you felt unsure of where your life was going?

What makes you want to stay where you are?

Number one, my best buddy is here, and I'm not going to leave him. I'm the only family he has left, and I trust him more than any of my remaining family. And he does not want to go. (He qualifies for Irish citizenship -- all four grandparents came from the Old Sod -- but he just would not apply, even though it would allow him to live anywhere in the EU.)

But it's also that there are so many smart people and interesting things to do here. In my hometown, my interests and ideas are very much minority ones, and I was always an odd duck (not to say a bit of a freak) there and never fully comfortable, despite the fact that it's a pretty and comfortable place. But there are so many people in New York City that no matter how out of the way your interests are, there's somebody who shares them. (I also really, really like being able to live without a car.)

If you were to move somewhere else, where would you move and why? (If you like, give one place in your own country and one place abroad.)
