"Getting to know you...

Yes, and I still do all the time. All my teachers would give me low scores on my penmanship because my writing doesn't look pretty on the page. Mind you, I can form all the letterings OK, and you can usually read what I write, it just isn't the kind of aesthetically pleasing appearance you see on greeting cards.

Do you ever use profanity?

Sometimes I watch Boxing channels as my Grandpa likes watching Boxing Matches

Can you play soccer ?

Yes, I watch sports on TV. These days about the only sports I watch is my alma mater, the Florida Gators, play football. I used to watch lots of sports, from college football and NFL football, to NHL hockey, Major League Baseball, and the NCAA basketball tournament. These days it's hard to get me interested in most of it.

Yes, I can play soccer, or at least I could in junior high and high school P. E. classes at the other side of my life. But we never had the coaches out there teaching us how to play position soccer. I'd probably kill myself if I tried to play soccer at my age now.

I had some tennis lessons as an 18 year old college Freshmen, but I haven't picked up a racket in over 40 years. Again, I'd probably kill myself if I tried to play tennis now.

Can you play basketball or baseball?

Yeah, I can get out there and swing my hips. I don't know all the specific steps to salsa, though.

Do you listen to reggaeton? I remember that was big around 2006 with the Latin kids back when I was substitute teaching.

No, never. I hate reggaeton. I used to listen to house and dance music on the radio, but these days they put a lot of "classy reggaeton" which they call "urban". To me it still sounds horrible.

How often do you go to a public library?

I usually go to the public library at least once a week, but I also volunteer for my local genealogical society, and they have their library within a public library. I tend to check out a book every month or two from the larger library.

Have you done your own genealogy, or are you active in exploring your family roots? Do you know all your close family members, or are there gaps in your knowledge (as, for example, you don't know who your grandfather was, or you know only your grandmother's first name, but not her original maiden surname, so you can't trace that line back any further)?

I have done a lot of work on my family tree. I know all of my immediate family and have traced one branch back to the 1300s and another to the 1640s.

Are you related to anyone famous?

I did it many years ago.
I have very little knowledge of my paternal family (that is, the people who had our first family name), I could only learn about my great-grandfather. On the other hand I could trace other lines back to 1700 or so.

So, to answer Paul's question. I don't think I'm related to any famous person. But my mum has a distant cousin who claims that we are related to sir Francis Drake. Who knows...

Do you know the history of your city/town?

I live about 700 miles from the place I was born. It doesn't seem to matter much, since the family moved to the city I now live in when I was 6 months old, so this area is all I know.

Do you still live in your childhood home? (I do.) If not, does your family still live there?

It's been a big wave here since 2004 , I don't truly hate it , I may even dance to it when I attend a party , nonetheless I am sick and tired of its monotonous drum base , the lack of creativity in the song lyrics ( specially the current Reggaeton )

I know my father , but he never had an interest in becoming close to me , therefore , I've got little knowledge about who his parents and siblings were .
On my Mother's side I've known my Great Grandma and My Grandparents are still alive , however , since my maternal grandparents come from different towns , it would be hard to trace their ancestors ...

I live in the same piece of land , in the late 90's a new house was built , when I was younger more people lived here , many relatives have moved to other towns because of marriage and work . To me, my true family are my Mum and my Grandparents , so I'd say my family still lives here , my Grandma has lived in this land since she was five years old .

How many siblings have you got ? ... if you've got them ...

I don't have any brothers or sisters, I am an only child.

I have five first cousins on my father's side, four of whom are still alive, and one who died in her late 40s. Also, there was a cousin who died in infancy. On my Mother's side I have four fist cousins. I have one second cousin that I'm pretty close to, and dozens of others, most of whom I don't know and have never met. There was a family on my Mother's side that we knew, we called her Aunt but technically she was my grandmother's first cousin. Her son was my second cousin once removed, but he disappeared many years ago on a trip to Monterrey, Mexico, and is presumed dead.

Do you have any extended family that you know and associate with, beyond the expected aunts and uncles, first cousins, etc.?

I know several of my second cousins, but don't really see them apart from weddings and funerals.

Did you ever meet any of your great-grandparents?
