"Getting to know you...

Do you have any special person or people in your life, not necessarily a sex partner, that you go to when you need someone to talk to or understand you?
I'm afraid to admit such a person doesn't exist in my life , not even my mum can fathom me . My grandma used to understand me , however , because of her dementia we can no longer chat in depth like we used to ...

Do you have a cat ?

No I have a chihuahua dog

Do you think you have good dance moves?

Do you think you have good dance moves?

I don't think that I really have any good dance moves. I used to love to dance a lot, but these days I only dance alone in my house if I feel inspired to do it by a certain song.

Do you live alone?

Yep, I live by myself in my house.

If you live alone, do you enjoy it, or would you rather have someone with you. If you don't live alone, would you prefer it?

No. I sometimes think I would have liked to have children, but as a gay man I knew that was likely an impossibility unless I was willing to have a heterosexual marriage, and I couldn't do that and be true to myself. I suppose I could have tried to adopt if I was in a marriage with another man, or gone through a surrogate parenting arrangement, but that wasn't in the cards. As I occasionally say half-jokingly, if I were to become a parent, a lesbian couple showing up at my door with a turkey baster would likely be involved.

Do you have children? If not, would you want to?

No children for me either. I sometimes ponder what it would have been like to have children. My nieces and nephews adore me and I think I would have been a great Dad, but that's water (cum) under the bridge. Time has been good to me and I'm happy.

Is your home big enough to raise children?

Oh, it's big enough, alright, if I can ever bring myself to clean up and get rid of all that stuff that I have, on top of all the crap my parents saved. It's a 3 bedroom house. After all, it's the same home I grew up in. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that parents do their children a huge disservice by leaving all their crap for them to go through.

Did your parents or other relatives leave a lot of extra crap for you to inherit?

Yes they did. I think it will take 2-3 large dumpsters to clean out the house. Why does that generation not throw anything away?

Are you sentimental or is everything going to Goodwill or the landfill?

Probably too sentimental for my own good. I'll be going through old statements, shredding electric bills from 1965 and such, and they will have saved a personal letter from a dear relative that's no longer with us in the middle of it, and I have to stop to read it. Speaking of sentimentality, just this year I had to throw out the dining room table that was in the house from the time I was a baby. It was collapsing in the middle, and it was just time for it to go. I was surprised how sad it made me feel when I dragged it out to the street to be picked up.

Did you inherit anything that you consider of real monetary or sentimental value?

The house mainly. It was my Grandfather's and my Dad was raised here. Other than photographs, everything else can go.

Will you make any structural changes to your home?

Yes, I do.

What's your earliest memory?

Kindergarten? Not really. My mom said I went into school with no tears or anxiety at all, but she cried.

Were you a straight A student?

My great-grandmother's when I was 5.

How about you?

I haven't thought about it.

Do you believe in the afterlife?
