These days a good weekend looks like this: On Saturday and Sunday I get up and have a good breakfast. And then I try to write messages to my JUB friends on either Saturday or Sunday morning. On Saturday morning I'll try to do some work in the garden if I don't have a meeting or event planned later that day. If I do I'll go to the genealogical society meeting or the old farts' meeting, Rare Fruit Council plant sale, or whatever other event. Or I might go out to an event on Saturday night, or stay home.
On Sunday I'll attend services at the my local MCC and meet up with the people there. Then I usually come home and make a good dinner for myself. On Sunday evening the elderly Venezuelan lady sometimes invites me over and will serve me dinner. She tells me that I'm fat and will have a heart attack and that I need to lose weight, all the time that's she's stuffing me. (Yes!) Her personality is a bit high-strung for what I'm used to, and I have to admit I feel a sense of relief when I leave there. And I'm usually fine if she doesn't invite me over, because, although she's an interesting person and I like her, I'm OK with not having to deal with the stress of being around her.
