I know I made a dent in the world of Addiction with my 23 years at the Substance Abuse Unit, I still bump into people on the street who thank me. I just could not handle the government bureaucracy there after 23 years.

Is there a Govrnment figure you admire?
 
Yep, I would say I almost always agree with Teddy Kennedy politically. Even though I like Hillary a lot, there is something that keeps me a bit wary.

Unfortunately, there are so many that is don't have respect for, that woud be an easier list to come up with.

Do you participate in political action groups or headquarters activity?
 
I used to participate in the Democratic elections but not any more. I formerly campaigned for Robert Kennedy, but Ted you can throw him in the ocean as far as I am concerned. I think its a shame how my fellow In staters keep voting for him.



Do you Vote in every election?
 
I askl people who complain about the Government or their handlings, Do you vote?
If they respond no, I tell them they have no right to complain then.

I think it would be Rosevelt, for everything he did for the regular people and got our economy going again. But I was not there.


Who is yours?
 
My heroes are the big three, Washington, Lincoln, and FDR as far as presidents. I just finished the third volume of Shelby Foote's work on the Civil War. Lincoln was an amazing individual with such character. I can't imagine how we would be different without him -- without any of the big three, really.

Do you like reading about the Civil War?
 
Lincoln was amazing, and I do like reading about it, but did not in high school.

Do you know who your local politicians are?
 
I know them, but it is amazing my neighbors do not know who our mayor or city counselors are or even their own State Representative. I think it is a shame.
