"Getting to know you...

Being NOT a Red Shirt on Star Trek would be cool.
It'd be cool to be on Game of Thrones, too, but that gets more than a bit violent.

Thanks for the info on Treacle - I knew it was super sweet - the look on Ron's face at the Christmas feast and all.

What are your living accommodations like?

When my partner got ill and nearly died we had to move in with the mother-in-law. Not ideal let me tell you. Renting here is so expensive because it's so close to London. Hopefully one day we'll find a place of our own (or she'll have kicked the bucket, whatever comes first)

What annoys you most about the country you live in?

I think every State should be uniformed in its laws and policies. You have 50 States and everyone have different policies.

Do you like to read and if do what type of literature.

Love reading - a fairly wide genre -
Harry Potter
Tolkien
Jim Butcher - Harry Dresden Series and the Codex Alera series
John Grisham
James Patterson
Richard North Patterson
Nora Roberts/J D Robb
Iris Johannsen
Brad Melcher
and the list goes on . . .

I can't remember all of the authors we bring into the house and share.
I'm currently re-reading George R R Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series - third time.
We have the first two seasons on DVD.
And, book six might be out.

How far from your home have you ever been?

2,120 miles away to Seattle, WA. I thought it would have been Cozumel, but Siri said no.

Longest road trip?

Rochester to Spain - Madrid, Cordoba, Granada, Seville, Toledo.
and back.

What's(are) our favourite regional/ethnic food (s)?

Asian food. Noodles. Rice. Chicken. I could eat shrimp fried rice for the rest of my life!

Do you still live in your hometown?

That's sort of complicated.
I was born about an hour SW of here.
Lived in Rochester til I was 4
Rhode Island till I was 8
Binghamton area til I was 11
a town two up til I got married.
Lived a couple towns over for a couple of years.
Lived in this town since 1980 - two different houses.
Been here coming up on 21 in August.

So, yes and no sort of, lol.

Do you have family in places not in your immediate vicinity (>25 miles or so away)

Longest trip (one way time-wise)? NY to Naples aboard the Italian Line's "Raffaello". Passed the "Michelangelo" in the mid Atlantic. Took a Fantastic week to get there! (And then, we traveled on to other places, for several weeks.)

Furthest trip? Bellaire, OH, to West Berlin, in a round about way.

Longest road trip? Youngstown, OH, to Wellfleet, MA, 15hr. Milwaukee to Atlanta was "only" 14hr.

As for "ethnic" food, I tend to favor Italian, but I'm interested in ALL of them!

Hometown? I was born in Lexington, KY, and raised all around N.E. Ohio. We would move every 3-5yr. I've been living at least 500mi. away from "Home" because of my Family's PUBLIC!

My relatives are scattered from Coast to Coast! East to West, and North to South! (Well ... Northern Border, unless The Great Lakes count as a "Coast".)

How many Countries have you visited? (Not counting your own?)

Two - that one up North called Canada, and Spain.

I know, kind of boring.

Do you like Mollusks?

Do you like Mollusks?

I was lucky enough that my family had a place right on the harbor at Wellfleet, MA. The Quahogs from there are World Renown! Clams, and Oysters, are my all time FAVORITE Sea Food! Lobster comes in second ... well ... third, and Fish not so much, though I do like fish.

Do you believe in "Destiny" and "Karma"?

Waking up - got my 6 hours in, was up before the alarm.
But, it's early yet, so a bit.

Coffee - Yesterday morning.

Destiny - I believe in Free Will not a predetermined destiny, but that doesn't mean people aren't meant to find one another for a day, a season, or a lifetime.

Karma - what goes around, comes around - yes.

What color are your eyes?

I don't think i do. Mon-Fri I drink one 12oz cup in the mornings.

Edit: My hair is black.

Worst food you've ever eaten?

Hmmm,

I tried Sea Cucumber once and didn't particularly care for it - but I don't know if that's fair or not.

How about you?

knuckle bones with the marrow inside it.

I didn't know what it was till I put the whole thing in my mouth and found that it wasn't soft and chewy but rather hard and vile.

That's banquet food in China for you.
Most of it a surprise and a delight, but everything gets eaten and not all of it to my palette.

You?

This could turn into a boomerang session, lol.

It's another super hot day here - currently reading 87F/29C here.
It's our town's Canal Days this weekend - when 250,000 people descend on the Village. We're just outside in the town - we went to when we were younger, but that many in a crown, maybe not so much.

How about you- do you like big festivals?
