I.ve never been able to successfully d/l a GIF. All that happens is that it captures a still shot of one frame of the GIF. I'm on a Mac and I'd like to believe I'm more or less computer literate, but no matter what I try doesn't work. I save to Preview and the dropdown says "save as GIF" or something like that, but no joy.
 
I do upload them from other sites, beware the size, beware do not resize image .






 
here's what always happens, there's a still and a "film strip" on the side, so those frames are what makes up the GIF but no movement:

I figured it out, I think. A GIF cannot be opened in Preview, they must be with a browser. There has to be an easier way but this is Apple we're talking about so probably not.

If you download an animated GIF, you can preview it on a Mac by clicking its icon to select the file and then pressing the space bar.
 

Just made this copy via postimage, mind the size, option one, use Do not resize mage.
