wtf?

when 9/11 happened, wasn't he the mayor?......and wasn't there a republican on the throne? errrr...in office?

his statements go against logic and good taste.

Giuliani will be even worse than Bush as president because he is not only a fascist, he is a smart fascist. The only reason a lot of people thought he was a hero on 9-11 is because Bush was in hiding. Giuliani is bad, bad news. And don't let anyone tell you he is "pro-gay rights." He resisted every gay rights initiative that came down the pike and is opposed to same-sex marriage, even though he is working on his third marriage.

Yeah

Giuliani is a fascist

but a smart fascist

love the name calling

really good stuff

Just another pathetic attempt of Republicans using a tragedy like 9/11 for their own selfish gain.

I don't know if Guliani is right or not but I honestly don't think he'd do any better as President than any of the other candidates running. Just because he saw people jumping out of windows and the towers crumble doesn't mean he's the best one to prevent future horrors from occuring.

Still, as long as he, Hillary, McCain and Barak actually READ the intel they receive then maybe terrorist attacks can be avoided in the future. Reading and comprehending... something that many people in Bush Admin cannot do.

...
And since leaving office five years ago, Mr. Giuliani said, he has made 90 trips to more than 40 countries. In the last few years, “I have probably been to more foreign lands than any other candidate for president,” he said.

At a house party in New Hampshire, Mr. Giuliani suggested that it was unclear which was farther along, Iran or North Korea, in the development of a nuclear weapons program.

Asked about his policy toward the North Koreans, he said he backed the administration’s approach, mentioning in particular a Chinese role in efforts to pressure them. “I think the strategy has produced enough results so far that you have to stick with it,” he said.

As for Iran, Mr. Giuliani said that “in the long term,” it might be “more dangerous than Iraq.”

He then casually lumped Iran with Al Qaeda. “Their movement has already displayed more aggressive tendencies by coming here and killing us,” he said.

Mr. Giuliani was asked in an interview to clarify that, inasmuch as Iran had no connection to the Sept. 11 attacks. Further, most of its people are Shiites, whereas Al Qaeda is an organization of Sunnis.

“They have a similar objective,” he replied, “in their anger at the modern world.”

In other words, he said, they hate America.

Giuliani can't tell the difference between a sunni and shia organization, and he doesn't know which country Iran or NK has the bomb (hint hint its North Korea).

Yet he is the one that will save us, note the above story I linked too he also says he understands foreign policy better than everybody else who is running for president.

You can't make this shit up ](*,)

"Republicans are tougher on national security"

heard that one before? LOL

I think this is your typical campaign comment

I kinda agree with Rudy on this one - the Dems are looking to disengage - to a fault IMO - if I'm an enemy of the U.S., I want a Dem President - who will have to please the extreme liberal/dove wing with an America is to blame mantra

it's campaign season guys

“If any Republican is elected president - - and I think obviously I would be the best at this - - we will remain on offense and will anticipate what (the terrorists) will do and try to stop them before they do it,” Giuliani said.

WTF???????????#-o

whats sad here is that after six years of using the deaths of these people to wring election victories out of america, this boob is still trying it

he needs to get it

ehh

he will be tossed into dubyas dustbin

If he really, honestly backs the administration's approach to North Korea, I suggest he drop from the race and endorse Bill Richardson, whom the administration considered competent to talk to the North Koreans.

Typical of Giuliani's --and BushRepublican-- insane propaganda.

On September 11, 2001 Republicans controlled the White House, Congress, the majority of Governorships including New York, and of course the Mayor's office of New York City.

They let 9/11 happen and now they claim they're the only ones who can stop another 9/11.

The truth is they're the ones who have and continue to set us up for another 9/11.

I never understood why Giuliani was so venerated after 9/11---he was just doing what anyone who was in a similar position would do. What makes him a hero at all.

Timely comment... from McCain's speech today, "officially" announcing his candidacy:

Oh dear. I do wonder, how will Giuliani withstand the truth? How will he respond when he's asked that question in every debate, in every townhall meeting, in every Meet the Press appearance? How will Giuliani explain his record as a mayor who was, at best, indifferent to terrorism, and whose indifference cost hundreds of lives?

as if we dont know....

he will call them terrorist sympathisers for questioning his behavior

that is a pattern already too set to shed at this point

I agree! :=D:

That's the only way that they can stay in power. They no longer stand for anything of value like "less-government," or even for "family values" any more. But by God if we can just keep the shit scared out of everyone then MAYBE we can stay in power.

Oooh! I want to latch my train on to that Party!

NOT. :(

The sad part is that a lot of voters will latch on to their fear based agenda, since there is a legitimate terrorist threat. Unfortunately, politicians like Giuliani, offer no comprehensible solutions to the problem - nor does the party he represents.

Rather than rant, bitch, moan and spew vitriolic hate, let me be the first to actually try to address the issue. (shocking)

Sure are full of yourself.

And deluded.

I think it's disinginuous to say that only Republicans can stop another terrorist attack on American soil, or be strong on defense in general for that matter.

It's not only disingenuous, it's a lie and it's divisive and it's fear mongering.

I do believe that Republicans are stronger on defense issues.

They're stronger on propaganda, nothing more.

Well, that and spending us into debt in perpetuity so chickenhawk warmongers can indulge their armchair adventure.

Do you guys not renember which president and party got rid of Saddam Hussein?

“I listen a little to the Democrats and if one of them gets elected, we are going on defense,” Giuliani continued. “We will wave the white flag on Iraq. We will cut back on the Patriot Act, electronic surveillance, interrogation and we will be back to our pre-Sept. 11 attitude of defense.”
Did he *actually* say this? Or perhaps its taken out of context a bit, but for some reason my jaw simply DROPPED. "He's speaking about it like its a good thing?"
Guess that shows where my ideals stand. *chuckles*

Do you guys not renember which president and party got rid of Saddam Hussein
I remember it having to do something with Australian soldiers...I also remember it being irrelevant to the topic at hand.

I also remember it being irrelevant to the topic at hand.

Or possibly George Bush and Republican Party is brought up in every single one and how much people dislike him so yeah is pretty much in the topic! So yeah fact that nearly every thread on here is bitching about them, but noone ever brings up the good theyve done. :D But obviously that doesnt matter as long as theres some good old bitching of republicans done!

Yes that is the sad part, but hardly a majority to win the White House.

I'm glad to see that Giuliani is "reaching out" to the other 49.9% of Americans who never voted for Bush, or the Republican Party.

We've had more than six years of "divisive politics" and this is what Giuliani has to offer?

No thanks.

I'd be quicker to mention things like No Child Left Behind as opposed to taking Saddam out, even though both of them have their extreme downsides. But even then, its completely off topic, isn't it?
