And since leaving office five years ago, Mr. Giuliani said, he has made 90 trips to more than 40 countries. In the last few years, “I have probably been to more foreign lands than any other candidate for president,” he said.
At a house party in New Hampshire, Mr. Giuliani suggested that it was unclear which was farther along, Iran or North Korea, in the development of a nuclear weapons program.
Asked about his policy toward the North Koreans, he said he backed the administration’s approach, mentioning in particular a Chinese role in efforts to pressure them. “I think the strategy has produced enough results so far that you have to stick with it,” he said.
As for Iran, Mr. Giuliani said that “in the long term,” it might be “more dangerous than Iraq.”
He then casually lumped Iran with Al Qaeda. “Their movement has already displayed more aggressive tendencies by coming here and killing us,” he said.
Mr. Giuliani was asked in an interview to clarify that, inasmuch as Iran had no connection to the Sept. 11 attacks. Further, most of its people are Shiites, whereas Al Qaeda is an organization of Sunnis.
“They have a similar objective,” he replied, “in their anger at the modern world.”
In other words, he said, they hate America.

note the above story I linked too he also says he understands foreign policy better than everybody else who is running for president.

“If any Republican is elected president - - and I think obviously I would be the best at this - - we will remain on offense and will anticipate what (the terrorists) will do and try to stop them before they do it,” Giuliani said.

Timely comment... from McCain's speech today, "officially" announcing his candidacy:
Oh dear. I do wonder, how will Giuliani withstand the truth? How will he respond when he's asked that question in every debate, in every townhall meeting, in every Meet the Press appearance? How will Giuliani explain his record as a mayor who was, at best, indifferent to terrorism, and whose indifference cost hundreds of lives?
Typical of Giuliani's --and BushRepublican-- insane propaganda.
On September 11, 2001 Republicans controlled the White House, Congress, the majority of Governorships including New York, and of course the Mayor's office of New York City.
They let 9/11 happen and now they claim they're the only ones who can stop another 9/11.
The truth is they're the ones who have and continue to set us up for another 9/11.

I agree!
That's the only way that they can stay in power. They no longer stand for anything of value like "less-government," or even for "family values" any more. But by God if we can just keep the shit scared out of everyone then MAYBE we can stay in power.
Oooh! I want to latch my train on to that Party!
NOT.
Rather than rant, bitch, moan and spew vitriolic hate, let me be the first to actually try to address the issue. (shocking)
I think it's disinginuous to say that only Republicans can stop another terrorist attack on American soil, or be strong on defense in general for that matter.
I do believe that Republicans are stronger on defense issues.
Did he *actually* say this? Or perhaps its taken out of context a bit, but for some reason my jaw simply DROPPED. "He's speaking about it like its a good thing?"“I listen a little to the Democrats and if one of them gets elected, we are going on defense,” Giuliani continued. “We will wave the white flag on Iraq. We will cut back on the Patriot Act, electronic surveillance, interrogation and we will be back to our pre-Sept. 11 attitude of defense.”
I remember it having to do something with Australian soldiers...I also remember it being irrelevant to the topic at hand.Do you guys not renember which president and party got rid of Saddam Hussein
I also remember it being irrelevant to the topic at hand.
But obviously that doesnt matter as long as theres some good old bitching of republicans done!
But obviously that doesnt matter as long as theres some good old bitching of republicans done!
The sad part is that a lot of voters will latch on to their fear based agenda, since there is a legitimate terrorist threat. Unfortunately, politicians like Giuliani, offer no comprehensible solutions to the problem - nor does the party he represents.

Or possibly George Bush and Republican Party is brought up in every single one and how much people dislike him so yeah is pretty much in the topic! So yeah fact that nearly every thread on here is bitching about them, but noone ever brings up the good theyve done. But obviously that doesnt matter as long as theres some good old bitching of republicans done!
