  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Giving flowers to someone. Too old fashioned?

Remember when Barbara Streisand told Neil Diamond that he did not bring her flowers, anymore?

If I got flowers from someone,

I'd marry him.

Right then and there

I don't even care if he's gay.
LOL

You and I both!

I've given flowers before, but never to a guy.

giving flowers is totaly not old fasioned... i have given flowers to people though have never received... though i would love to receive... i think its a cute romantic thing to do...

yes, giving flowers is very old fashioned. But what is wrong with old fashioned? Opening doors for some one is old fashioned too.

I once had flowers delivered to me at work. It was such a wonderful feeling to be remembered and thought of. The best time to get flowers is for no reason at all. Besides, it leads to some really great sex.

I think buying flowers for someone is a very nice thing to do. Just because its an old tradition doesnt mean we should stop doing it.

Yes it is old fashioned. There is a history of what flowers represent depending on the variety or even color differences within the variety (for example, I beleive red roses = love, while white roses = friendship etc).
Old fashioned to me doesn't have a negative connotation.

Writing lovely letters, sending thoughtful thank you cards and many other "old fashioned" concepts are disappearing.

Flowers mean someone thought of you or you had special thoughts about someone and were prompted to say it with flowers.

Besides, many of "our family" work as florists (sorry if that's stereotyping, bit it's the truth).
