I am going to be visiting Glatzberg Germany this March and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on some fun stuff to do and see. Thanks

where the heck is glatzberg? *looks for maps*

ok it is almost in the middle of nowhere! but munich isn't that far away. i heard erding is quite a nice tow... er village as well, although i guess that isn't your definition of fun. so i still suggest munich :) too bad that the weather won't be that good in march, elsewise you could watch the nudists in the english garden in the middle of the city hehe

Thanks, its a shame I am going to miss the nudists. I know I am being a total tourist but I def want to see Neuschwanstein. What kind of stuff is in Munich? I am open for pretty much anything. I had a feelinf I'd hear from you on this thread ;)

In München steht ein Hofbräuhaus...

sorry, couldn't resist. i'll leave now

i visited munich only twice ;) but there is kinda everything there. of course the usual tourist stuff like the hofbräuhaus, and lots of other biergarten (still a bit too cold in march, so look for beer cellars (bierkeller);)), the big deutsches museum (german museum for nature science and lots more), lots and lots of clubs (also gay clubs of course), many noble clubs (if you manage to get into the P1 you probably will see some celebs).
here is a list of some gay clubs/parties, but i can't recommend anything since i never did any gay-partying in munich ;)
so at all no secret hints from me, sorry ;) just stick to the usual tourist stuff, and if you are into science at all i advise the deutsche museum. that's probably all that i can say about that part of the country, apart from that i can only offer general advice/best practice or so ;)

Glatzberg? Where the hell is that? If you only see Bavaria then you'll get to see a totally screwed up image of Germany. Well besides that, I have nothing else to add. Corny already said everything. Looks like there's only Munich in your vicinity.

Riz:

The whole of Bavaria is beautiful; and the only other attraction that I recommend you visit is:

Dachau

[img http://www.kz-gedenkstaette-dachau.de/images/nav/homepg.jpg img]

Dachau is the site of a former Jewish Concentration Camp.

If you want to see something that will forever be imbedded in your memory, then I recommend you visit the site. Be prepared to be shocked, stunned and otherwise totally dismayed about the usual questions of WHY, HOW, etc......

.......But, so that places/events like this NEVER happen again, we must re-open such places to our memory so that we NEVER FORGET!

Please go see for yourself.(*8*) (*8*)

Change in plans. Günzburg. Lego land is off my list of things to do. However I hear that in March there is StarkBierFest in Munich. Is that all over in bavaria as well?

probably only in munich. and if you want to visit legoland - i recommend the one in billund, denmark ;)

There are all sorts of various fests going on at any given time somewhere in Germany. They're basically like a local carnival but with a beer tent (at least in Bavaria) and range in size from small up to Oktoberfest.

Definitely check out Munich. The Deutsches Museum is very cool if you're at all interested in science or technology. They have the first car on display along with some neat trains and even space craft among other things. For something more serious that will make you think, the Dachau concentration camp (out in the Munich suburbs) is worth checking out if a bit touristy.

Günzberg is pretty close to Ulm. Although I've never been there (just passed through on the train), it's worth checking out. Off hand, I know their claim to fame is that they have the tallest cathedral in world. I mean if you're going to see one church, you might as well see the tallest one, right?

Augsburg is also close and is supposedly a fairly nice small city with some interesting historic architecture (at least that's what I want to say).

Nürnberg is about 2 hours by train away (check out bahn.de and click on "Intern. Guests" on the top for the English site). They have a historic city wall, an old castle and the former Nazi Party rally grounds, which are all pretty interesting to check out or look at. I used to live about an hour north of there (in Bayreuth) and Nürnberg was basically where I went when I needed to do real shopping or other big city sorts of things.
