Glee! [merged]

Not 100% sure why, but I really didn't like this episode. I thought the whole thing annoyed me more than it entertained me. The Rachel/Mom storyline was odd, and really didn't understand why they can't just have a normal relationship. I understand that they can't have a mother/daughter relationship. And I really didn't like the Poker Face song. Thought that they could have done a different song or version.

Finn and Kurt - Still completely dislike Kurt's character.
Always need a little bit of Sue in each episode, so maybe because she wasn't around at all, I didn't like the episode.

I still love the show. However, I'm still thinking that it's trying to be too much at one time. I normally would applaud the seriousness with which it treated the gay bashing/bullying aspect, but because the two football players have been played for laughs in the past, to suddenly make them truly menacing felt out of place, and I honestly just felt uncomfortable watching it.

I completely agree. The slushies, and even the dumpstering, are so stylized that they hardly seem like violence at all. This felt real, and it seemed particularly ugly in comparison to how surreal the rest of the episode was.

I'm not against Kurt's expression of himself, but they keep taking his creepiness to a whole new level. As others have pointed out on here, they are showing growth in a lot of the characters, but Kurt doesn't feel like he's growing at all, which doesn't ring true for someone who is so self aware.

I think that Kurt being foiled in the last few episodes is leading to growth, specifically out-growing his crush on Finn. I want their friendship to continue, but Kurt is not going to be able to move on until he understands that he'll never be with Finn. And I think he finally got that last night.

And I'm falling in love with Quinn more and more each episode. Maybe Glee is making me straight.

I don't know about straight, but I agree that Quinn has become awesome in the 'back 9' episodes. I have NO interest in women sexually, and for me to notice how radiantly beautiful she is, even with gigantic fake eyelashes, is saying something.

I agree the whole Tina is a gothic vampire was beyond stupid. I guess it was their pathetic way to give one of the minority characters a storyline. It was also thier even more pathetic way to make a Gaga episode. That's the problem. They pick songs and then piece together story bits around it.

Puck is serenading Quinn now. But didnt he just like Mercedes and needed to fight off Santana?

Kurt has been very proud and confident from the beginning - and there’s nothing wrong with that! I think the problem is though that he’s sometimes so busy with himself that he doesn’t realize how much his behavior affects others. Kurt’s not very sensitive or empathetic but somehow self-centered.

When Finn was being told that he had to move in with him, Kurt immediately was talking about redecorating the room, totally oblivious of how Finn was feeling at that moment (What 16 year old boy wants to share a room with his step-brother that is crazy in love with him? Finn’s mom is mainly to blame for this, she should’ve known better).

Later when Kurt had turned the room into this hideous chamber with museum-like furniture, he again had done what HE wanted to do without consulting anyone. What he had created was the result of who HE was, completely ignoring Finn’s needs, feelings or interests. Redecorating the room could have been an opportunity for both guys to grow together but Kurt turned it into an act of self-expression. Finn snapped, which he shouldn’t have, but honestly I understand why the situation escalated.

This week’s episode was a big fail. I don’t know what exactly has changed since Glee returned from the break but this is not the show I fell in love with last year. Last week’s episode has been the only good one so far :-/

Kurt is just terrible. There's nothing wrong with him being flamboyant and feminine but how aggressively he tried to push himself on Finn was so annoying. And while Mike O'Malley's scene was great it was kinda unwarranted. The scene would have made more sense for him to say that the football players. It was so out of character for Finn to even say "faggy".

I think the show handles this issue really badly. The football players made sense. Why does it matter to them what Kurt wears? But Finn was justified in being angry at Kurt. Kurt was being completely inappropriate and predatory to Finn. and perpetuates that PC bullshit where anytime you are mean to a gay guy you are being homophobic. It's not the gay guy is being a crazy asshole. The oversensitivity I think is counterproductive.

Agreed! ..|

@Callum I could see him either experimenting with kurt (very unlikely but i guess it could happen) or I could see kurt thinking he had the green light to try something and getting shut down... either way I think they may come back to the bi thing

I hope they don't...but the whole "I am different" line adds to my fears.

But maybe a sexually insecure teen is needed (God knows we weren't all like Kurt).

I see where you are all coming from. I end up like bits and pieces of each episode. I think that the story arc of Rachel finding her mom was over quite quickly but then there are story arcs that are there for a longer.
As for making Finn bisexual, i don't think so. I was reading something somewhere, probably Ask Auseillo, i think that he posted something about them bring in a gay character for Kurt next season. So there is hope.

I suppose this would be a bad time to mention that I really liked the bedroom. !oops!
Haha maybe YOU should offer moving in with Kurt then :D

I'm a Luke and Noah follower too by the way (watching their story on Youtube)

I liked the episode, it was entertaining, I loved Brittany's one liners. I hated all the Kurt/Finn stuff. Kurt's characters annoys me sometimes, I hate how he pursues an obviously straight guy, I have known other gay men who do that and it is so stupid, all they are doing is setting themselves up for disappointment. I loved Bad Romance, it was fun.

Lets not all act like we wern't like Kurt at sometime. We all know what its like to want a straight guy so much that you will try and convince them, they are gay, or do everything in your power to be with them. I sure know what its like.

Although I didn't go as far as Kurt lol

I think they handle the gay issue very well (so far) I can only comment up to the episode that was on here as im not sure what episode is on in the US. The last one we saw was where that guy plants the tape in rachels box and she sings i dreamed a dream with her mum, well kinda lol

^I'm sorry but they handle the gayness so sloppily and offensively. Yes, people have crushes but not to the point of serenading him in front of everyone. And constantly making him a guy feel awkward and uncomfortable like Kurt.

I dont know what the gay creator is thinking. He has basically made Kurt everything that homophobes and ignorants think: Constantly trying to make everyone gay and then hiding behind minority protections even when they are wrong.

Then Rachel's dads. When they were shown seemed kind of interesting. Now they are only mentioned as a plot device that kinda works against gay adoption. Rachel needs a mom to sew her dress b/c she has 2 gay dads who stapled stuffed animals. If theyre already stereotyping shouldnt gay dads be better at sewing than this woman.

I just dont get why a gay show writer/creator would make such horrible stereotypical storylines that actually work against gay people and show the deficiency in same-sex parenting.

Yes I have been attracted and had crushes on straight guys, but I have never tried to pursue them or try to "turn them out" because I knew it would never work.

I've never done that. I had various crushes on straight guys in high school and college but never made it known.

One question about Kurt's house. To me, it looks like Kurt's room is the basement converted to a bedroom. But we were also told that the house has 2 1/2 bathrooms. So presumably it has more than one bedroom. So why is Kurt down in the basement?

Obv we don't actually act on our straight crushes, but all im saying is love/lust is blind.

I don't really think many homophobes or gay bashers are really going to be watching glee anyways.

I feel like I'll be hung for saying this but I thought Bad Romance was done well I felt for a change they were actually singing instead of that thing Rachel does by over acting while Lip Synching. I though the guys as KIss were class but seriously guys was there ever a time were you didn't do something with the group of girls? It is pissing me off no end seeing Kurt always with the girls I would like to see him do things with the guys as in songs pervs lol.

OK I know what type of character Kurt is but I remeber school and I'll tell you this to be put with the girls was an insult I mixed with guys and girls, hell the show is about acceptance let's see Kurt do something with the guys. Its my life doesn't count as he went behind their backs to the girls.

I think i'm done with this show....I can't handle the cheesiness anymore...and the non-storytelling....

this episode had horrible songs...a lame episode "theme" and there weren't even any funny one liners or anything.

also...did we know Quinn was living with Puck? Cause I feel like we didn't know that....also...how can they always find all these back up dancers/singers for their solo performances when everyone is always making fun of them and would never join Glee club.....
