Glenn Beck Claims He Will 'Stand With GLAAD' Against Russia's 'Hetero-Fascism'

The conservative talking head opened his comments by openly criticizing the media's attention to Fox News' Megyn Kelly's statement about Santa Claus' race, as well as "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson's anti-gay comments in his GQ profile. His logic? The media should be focusing their attention elsewhere, such as the extreme climate of fear and violence plaguing LGBT Russians.

"Do you know what happened last week in Russia?" asked Beck. "One of their biggest stars on television said that homosexuals should be put into the ovens alive. I didn’t think you could make the Holocaust worse but he’s like 'Why the gas chamber? That seems a little too humane. Let’s put them alive in the ovens.'"

“I said on the air this week, I will stand with GLAAD," continued Beck. "I will stand with anybody who will stand up and say that’s crazy. That’s dangerous. That’s hetero-fascism. That’s what that is. And we’re talking about Duck Dynasty. Really? Really?”

I saw this a few days ago...I think this is more about his dislike of Russia and taking the heat off Duck Dynasty...I don't think this man is standing with anyone but himself...he just happens to be on the same side of the street this time.

Glen Beck is a fictional character that will say whatever gets gets ratings and money into his pocket. The man was moderately right-of-center when on CNN, tried bat-shit insane when on FOX, and when he hammed it up too much for viewers (and advertisers) comforts he laid low for a year or two and is now trying to remarket himself.

Why don't people understand that the Glen Beck you see on television is a manufactured product?

He's had nasty things to say about the Nazi gas chambers before, IIRC. Add his disgust with that particular barbarism to the spectacle of some Russian neaderthal urging it to be repeated, and I can see why he spoke out. He's also got some libertarian leanings, amd libertarians don't care what anyone does with his or her personal life.

I just wasn't aware he really had much of an audience any more.

Glen Beck went off and started The Blaze after he left Fox News. It's a news website, blog, and TV channel all rolled into one. Glen fancies himself as a media mougul these days.

That's his Mormonism.

Mormon thinking is apocalyptic and characterized by a siege mentality (same as Beck's political philosophy). For two hundred years, Mormons have been predicting the second coming of Christ "any day now." They stockpile food in anticipation of the end. And, since the end is nigh, you need to give the church all your money.
