Glenn Beck Sean Hannity Dropped by Radio Stations in Major Markets

Yesterday, hate radio hosts Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity had their nationally syndicated radio shows dropped from WPHT in Philadelphia, which is the second radio station to drop both of the conservative commentators. The moves were scheduled back in November 2010, and Marc Rayfield, market manager for CBS Radio in Philadelphia and senior vice president, said that WPHT wants to become “more of a locally based station.”

Just weeks ago, Beck was dropped from WOR in New York, but the most recent cancellation in Philadelphia hurts Beck even more. Beck got his start in Philadelphia, and many of his radio staffers still live in Philly, including Beck’s side-kick Stu. Immediately after being dropped yesterday, Beck dropped all affection for the city where he got his start, saying, “Philly sucks”:

“You know the killing streets right there in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia?” Beck told his producer. “You know how Philadelphia is not a place you want to be?” he added. “I’ll put you on a hidden cam and put you downtown at 6, 7 o’clock at night.” He could not believe his producer would be brave enough to walk around Center City at night. “Philly sucks,” Beck then said.

oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh

Someone's not happy.

I imagine this will make for a blackboard frenzy.

It'll be the gays fault. And I helped! I've been signing all kind of petitions to have them get canceled.

I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but Glenn Beck won't be going away any time soon. If sponsors drop him, Dick Armey, Karl Rove or the Koch brothers will pick up the slack. Beck is a commodity that needs to be sustained. ](*,)

Everytime I happen glance at Beck's show it sounds like a preacher preaching to me. Why anyone would want to watch that (unless you are very religious and like that kind of thing) is beyond me.

The killing streets right in front of Independence hall?
Afraid to walk around Center City at 6 or 7 o'clock at night?

Only if your crossing the street against the light while talking on your phone.
Being dropped must have really hurt Glen Beck. But who really cares?

Can I point out that the FOX news affiliate is right by Independence Hall?

A Coincidence?

Sounds like it was a planned drop due to a format change, not anything due to his outrageous stupidity. I'm surprised anyone in Philly listened to him, haha.

A very BAD preacher. If I went to church and heard preaching like that, I figure I should take money out of the offering plate, for putting up with the abuse.

i've listened to maybe 3-4 hrs of Beck's Radio show in total. i cant for the life of me understand why anyone would listen to him... Bad bad radio
^ It really is... And I'm being as objective as I can possibly be.

I'm the first to admit that I stomach listening to Limbaugh's show at least an hour or two a week. Part of a "keep your enemies closer" sort of thing, I suppose. But also - again, objectively speaking - (ooo, that one *hurt*) he is a brilliant broadcaster.

What comes out of his mouth is 99 percent fear-mongering, fact twisting nonsense, but he's damned good at it. Few people can do what Rush does and make it look and sound effortless. He is, I suppose, the radio equivalent of a delusional sociopath - he *believes* what he is saying. Or if not, he does a damn good job of cranking his listeners 15 hours a week.

Beck, on the other hand, is a joke. Often times his airtime consists of him smirking and laughing with his sidekick, and making wisecracks about how misunderstood by everyone in a, "Oh, that's right, I"M the crazy one sort of way..." Followed by more laughter and then a few tears about the meaning of the steps in front of the Lincoln Memorial or some other such contrived nonsense.

How this keeps people entertained five days a week until he can get to his blackboard for more nonsensical diagrams on his Fox TV show is so far beyond me that I can't even fathom the reason for people's interest in this buffoon.
