If you don't take a shower for two weeks u can save over 600billion gallons of water

lets do it starting Sunday no more showers

Go into work funky! and if someone says why do you smell funky just respond that i care for my earth and i want to save water!

Oh, so all this time we thought Robert Pattinson was just being lazy and here he's been saving the environment!

What if I shower with Pubert for two weeks? That'll be like one of us did it...

More eco stupiity. I'll up my count to two a day. It's summer in Arizona, so that will be nice. Excuse me as I go take another shower as it is aready 86F at 8:00 AM.

*old grandpa's voice*

Pfff, when I was in the army, I went 3 weeks without a shower.

You aren't really saving it though are you? There is plenty more falling from the sky.

Not if you live in California, or Arizona, or... pretty much anywhere west of the Rockies...

BTW, anybody who's serious about saving water can do what I did when I was temporarily without a water heater -- bathe from a bucket. I know I saved a lot of water, and it wasn't all that hard to do.

There is the same amount of water on earth as there was when the earth was formed. The water that came from your faucet could contain molecules that Neanderthals drank… The overall amount of water on our planet has remained the same for two billion years.
Actually, I don't think that's true. Water molecules can be created out of hydrogen and oxygen. It happens all the time, for example in your body when energy is stored. That's why you sometimes have to pee if you haven't consumed any liquids...

And anyway, what does that have to do with anything? Water conservation is still very important. Even in places that have plenty of water, there are energy costs associated with moving it from one place to another. Unless you're getting your water from a rainbarrel (which is no longer advisable due to acid rain) it costs something to get it to you...

There is no shortage of water in the world, just a shortage of drinkable water. It takes energy to make water drinkable. In the old days settlements were always built close to natural water supplies. Now we are so clever that we think we can beat nature we build places far from water and rely on technology to get it to us and in doing so often remove the supply from a long established settlement.

Anything that reduces our dependence on non renewable energy should be pursued and one of the easiest ways to make a difference with minimum cost to our beloved lifestyle, is to reduce waste.

If we were given some kind of reward for saving energy we would all be doing it. Just telling humans that it is saving the world for future generations doesn't work as we are a selfish shortsighted race. If we are made to feel that we personally gain by a certain behaviour then we are very likely to go along with it.

A good example in this country is the growth in small car sales. We have reduced car tax to zero for efficient cars and fuel prices are high so people buy the efficient cars as they save them money.

I don't want to be carrotted and sticked with the tax-money I had to pay myself to begin with. Government should do its own part with the utility companies, instead of just pumping people's money around, sometimes even encouraging waste rather than diminishing it.

Not showering for two days in the summer is a really bad idea. How about shower once a week in the winter? Even that's kind of gross but possibly doable.

I shower no less than twice a day. Normally more. There is no way I will give it up. NEVER!!!!!!!!

Fancy an acute, contagious ectoparasitic skin infection, do we ?
