About 2 weeks ago this group came to Huntsville, AL to demonstrate at the funeral of four children who were killed in a school bus accident. Madison county and Huntsville city restricted the area in which they were allowed to march. Then they parked large buses along the street at these areas so the Westboro group couls not be seen by the funeral procession. Kudos to the local leaders in Huntsville.

My mother is a member of the Patriot Guard. Everytime these people show up at a funeral for a fallen soldier, my mother's group will stand in front of them with giant American flags so they can't be seen from the street.

The Patriot guard showed up at a local soldier's funeral in Farmington MO, not far from here several months ago.Between them,the cops and all the locals there to pay tribute all the Westboro ass holes beat a hasty retreat.

It did my heart worlds of good to see so many different kinds of people(black,white, redneck, cop and yes..a few of us homos) unite to help spare the family more grief and heartache then they already had to deal with.

I must confess it never ceases to amaze me, the radical fringe elements that turn up in the US. You seem to have the best of everything, but also the worst.

You just don't get that kind of extremism in Australia. On the whole we are much more laid back and tolerant about everything.

Well, my rather sarcastic, but apparently too subtle, point was that the bible has been misinterpreted over the years so that Christians have come to believe that being gay is a sin. No human should have such an ego as to claim to speak for God. Anyway, I just wish these WBC freaks would go away and quit getting free publicity.
