It has been brought to my attention that my forehead is getting bigger. I am not amused. I'm only 26! Watching late night infomercials I know there's a lot of stuff out there to "cure" baldness...but does any of it actually work? I'm sure a lot of the claims are crap. I don't need to replace hair I've lost...yet...](*,), but is there anything that can actually stop it from getting worse?

The only thing that will stop hair loss in the front is Propecia. It blocks the effect of male hormone on the hair follicles and slows the hair loss. It has a lot of side effects and is about $70-80 per month.

One of the former mods at JUB did all the options - Propecia, a toupee and finally a hair transplant. His thread is here:

The other side to this is that the less hair you have, the more head you get...

Some people look really good w/no hair/bald. Some pretty sexy too

Consider yourself lucky that you're 26 and it's happening. Started at around 15/ 16 for me.

Truth is, there's no way to regain your hair once the follicles are gone. With exception of a transplant.

There are products though, that can slow down the blading process.

Nothing to do now but embrace :) Being bald can be very beautiful

Propecia is no longer as expensive as it used to be. A three month supply can cost about 50 dollars if you order it generic from Canada. Please remember that only things that are approved by the FDA are worth trying and will not prove to be a rip-off.

FDA approval process these days is a huge joke. FDA approval pretty much means that the drug or device will not kill you or give you cancer. For example, there are FDA approved "laser light therapies" for hair loss. But unfortunately people invest thousands of dollars into those treatments and get mixed results and rarely a full head of normal hair. Good solutions out there are limited and VERY expensive.

Welcome to the No Hair Club For Men. Nice to have another member.

Propecia is known to make you infertile as a side effect so I would be skeptical about which products you are using. I started balding when I was 20 so it is nothing really to be ashamed. I have a friend (well, my old hag's fiance) that is the same age as me and is bald already. I think it mostly stems from a self-esteem issue.

I have been seeing a few articles about propecia and how it may be tied to depression years after exposure to the drug.

BALD is a scarey thing. I first noticed it on a Carribean vacation when I was your age. "Why is my head hot"? Uh, no hair there, maybe?
Went through a bad decade or more of very expensive haircuts and potions, etc. Did so much with it, and it only looked worse. Buzz it.
Shave it. Get rid of the stuff. I shave from the waste up (mostly). Once I got over it, it looked and felt better. I never think of it. It is awesome efficient and cheap. Takes 3 min a day to maintain shaving in the shower. A good electric razor works, too. Like....
WHO DOESN'T LIKE SMOOTH HEAD?

You could spend the money with only a small possibility of results...but with men and all thongs aging..its just best to accept it, embrace it and relax into it. Don't fight it, you'll only end up looking strange...ala Kenny Rogers!
There are so many hot guys that are bald. No combovers or hiding it with long hair, you fool no one. Love it, shave it and show it off....or buzz it real close to the scalp. Its what makes those skinheads look so hot, right? How about marines? Grrrr!!
Also, no hair on the head and a lot of hair everywhere else is a sure sign of lots of testosterone...your sex life with thank you for it.
I shave mine once or twice a week....twice if I go out. All the guys that want to touch my head...hell yeah!
