After my hellish gauntlet of finals and papers, I will be going home from college for the holidays. My winter break lasts until January 28th.

I WANT to go home....but I sorta DON'T wanna go home, ya know what I mean?

Any college bois feel the same?

I think it is common - get back to some familiar grounds and see some friends; good for about 10 days, then you probably will want to return to school

another year or two and you will be wanting to go somewhere else during break!

28th? you must go to school up north where it snows and has an actual winter.

So did you get all A's this semester?

Did you meet any hot guys on campus and hooked up? Is that why you dont want to be away for so long?

I feel the same way. I'm going home tomorrow. I want to go home since I can relax for 3 weeks, spend time with my parents and all that, but I'm just warming up to the guys on my floor (it takes me a really long time to talk to people). In a week, I'll probably want to be getting back here.

And wow, that three months went fast. I can't believe half of first year is already over. Time to start studying for my last exam of the semester.

Nah. I like the independence of living on my own. When I go home, I feel like a child again....

Me12121 good to see you made progress.

I remember how it was for you when you first started back in September.

I hope you had an academically and socially successful semenester.

WHAT?! I have to go back on the 8th. I'm so jealous.
Well, our school year lasts until mid-May. You probably get off in April right?
Hmm, I'm getting ripped off here.
I still have two weeks of classes AND have to return to school January 8th AND my school goes until mid-May.

Our break doesn't start officially until the evening of the 23rd of December and we're supposed to start class on the 4th. Bullshit.

I enjoy going home just because I can see my friends and do absolutely nothing. I don't associate my house with much activity or social anxiety anymore, so I can really relax.

I'll be heading home next Thursday, and school starts back up Jan 16. It'll be nice to get out of here and let the brain rest. But this will be the first Christmas where I know that I'm gay. I'm not out yet to my parents, and I don't think I'm ready to do that yet either. So it will be kinda weird. Plus, my hometown is Hickville USA, so that won't be great either. A couple people (old hs friends) know that I'm gay, but not many others. And I hope to keep it that way for a while. I'd still like to be "welcome" back home, and I for sure don't want my parents to find out that Im gay through the grapevine and not me telling them. So it will be sort of bittersweet.

For at least part of the break I'll be back at my apartment at college, working on the design of our next solar car here at the U of MN, so I'll be busy. But thankfully not with coursework! I've had enough of paper-writing for quite a while!
