My boyfriend and I are coming to Atlanta this weekend. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant to check out for a nice dinner?

Don't know what type of food you might be looking for, but I frequent these places pretty regularly.

Las Margaritas
1842 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE
Atlanta, GA 30324
Phone: (404) 873-4464

Roxx Tavern And Grill
1824 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE
Atlanta, GA 30324-4945
Phone: (404) 892-4541

If you like Greek food, then you will love this place.

I prefer to keep it under $50/person. As far as tastes, my boyfriend and I like a lot of things and are always up to try new things so I don't want to narrow it down just yet.

OMG OMG OMG.

Hong Kong Harbour is so damn good. That's on Chesire Bridge.
Joes on Juniper
Ru San's
Top Spice
Fuji-ya
Edos
Original House of Pancakes
Atlanta Fish Market
Flying Biscuit

and The Vortex.

Also. If you can plan in advance.

"Lumiere" at Cordon Bleu in Atlanta.

The food is a bit pricy and you do have to wear nice clothing and have passable table ettiquite. But it's worth it. I've been there twice, the food is made by the students and the waiters are the students. It's an interesting experience watching the students show their potential and seeing and tasting their amazing dishes. And like I said. The food is also really good. Crab cake and the salmon is awesome :D

I'll have to think of some more resturaunts.

Well if you like Buffets.

Grand China Buffet
Asian Buffet
Lettuce Surprise You! (Salad Bar Only)

Those buffets are damn good.

Good luck on picking from all the great resturaunts. Let us know where you eat :D

Well, I was only in Atlanta once visiting friends, and after driving around looking for a place to eat, we ended up in this little strip mall in the suburbs, at a little Italian place called Bellini's. It was some of the best food I'd ever eaten ..|.

Don't know if that helps you any, but that was my only food experience in Atlanta.

Oh god, gmoney. You are making me homesick.

Nobody has mentioned Zuma, yet... the priciest but also by far the best Japanese restaurant I've been to anywhere. If you don't get alcohol, you can keep it under $50 per person.

Gmoney, how about that famous barbecue and Brunswick stew place down at Union City? I can't remember the name but it is damned good.

Oh, I forgot about a landmark!

If you are looking for a nice dining experience, a little more upscale than causal but not gonna break the bank...I like Two Urban Licks...great atmosphere, awesome wine selection, and cozy. Great date place and also voted best place to take a tourist :).

The Varsity is top notch. ;)

:badgrin::badgrin::badgrin:

SERIOUSLY -- I like Athens pizza place on N Druid and Lavista (I think) -- beside Greek Pizza (IMO the BEST Pizza in Atlanta) -- they also have a lot of other AWESOME Greek food -- and it is relatively inexpensive!!!

Are you in town THIS weekend -- or NEXT weekend???

:):):)

We're coming in next weekend - the 13th. I'm looking for something the evening of the 14th. I know a lot of places are going to be busy and reservations will probably be required so I'm hoping to figure something out tonight so I can call tomorrow and see what is available.

Lots of folks from Atlanta are on JUB they should be able to give good suggestions.

I travel there a lot and really liked Seasons52 and Brio. Both are right on Peachtree in Buckhead.

Have a great Valentines day!

Forget MY suggestion then --

You want to go to a NICE place for VALENTINES Day!!!

Although I'm FROM Atlanta -- I don't know too much about those places...

HOPE you have a GREAT TRIP and an AWESOME weekend...

:):):)

Pitty Pat's Porch...for some damn good fried chicken...and if you want a real southern experience.

If you are looking for a good southern breakfast....The Sizzlin Skillet.

^ That sounds great! Seems that really authentic "southern fried chicken" has almost vanished from the face of the earth.

I've always meant to try the Varsity, heard great things about it, but I've never gotten there.

It doesn't help make it convenient, the fact that I live 700 miles from Atlanta LOL.

Without a doubt go to Fogo de Chao - a great Brazilian place!

3101 Piedmont Road
Atlanta, Georgia 30305
Phone:404-266-9988

*added bonus - not only do you get to see the meat the gauchos bring out, you might get a chance to check out the gaucho's meat! nothing finer than Brazilian booty and cock!

avoid a place called Cow Tippers. Jav and Gmo had a terrible experience there.

I like Las margaritas as well. def. not a fancy place and a little noisy but the food is pretty good and most of the waiters are cute. However if your looking for a romantic Valentines dinner it might not be the right place.
