Good Gay Movies

Angels in America - it's technically a mini-series but it's the best gay-themed 'movie' in my opinion. Really, truly spectacular.

I just watched (well cried mostly) "White Frog"
It's on Netflix. Good movie!

Just watched Floating Skyscrapers, a Polish film. It was good, although it had some cliches. It was sorta dark and depressing too. I guess it was real in the fact that it did depict common homophobia in Poland, still.. the ending was too sad and depressing for my taste. All in all the movie was good though, and definitely worth the watch :)

Here's the trailer:

I just watched 3 on Netflix last weekend

Geography Club (good movie...I hear the book is better though)
Petunia (quirky family comedy...some great performances)
Date & Switch (a teen comedy in the vein of American Pie...2 friends make a pact to lose their virginity before graduation...then one comes out....funny and sweet movie)

The short film: Eu Não Quero Voltar Sozinho. Beautiful and charming.

They're actually making a full length film out of this movie. So excited for it!

One of my favorite Gay movies is Shelter.

For a well written, well acted "gay" film with the focus on the script, plot, and acting rather than the stereotypical try Sunday, Bloody Sunday 1971.

I quote:
Divorced working woman Alex and well-to-do Jewish family doctor Daniel Hirsh share not only the same answering service but also the favours of young Bob Elkin who bed-hops between them as the mood takes him. Both Alex and Dr Hirsh are aware of the other's existence but prefer to live with the situation rather than risk losing Elkin completely. But a wet winter weekend in London can be difficult.

I can highly recommend Ferzan Özpetek's movies. He is a Turkish Director and lives in Italy. Here are the some movies of him.

Hamam 1997
Harem Suare 1999
Cahil Periler - Le Fate Ignoranti 2000
Karşı Pencere - La Finestra di Fronte 2002
Kutsal Yürek - Cuore Sacro 2005
Bir Ömür Yetmez - Saturno Contro 2007
Mükemmel Bir Gün - Un Giorno Perfetto 2008
Serseri Mayınlar - Mine Vaganti 2010
Şahane Misafir - Magnifica Presenza 2012

Hamam was terrific, but my ex and I were wondering why the lovers' pendants looked exactly like the AOL logo???

Lilies is one of the best. A confusing "art film" but you'll end up watching it 6 times and everything makes sense.
