Goodbye YouTube

I still don't see what this adds to google except more search results that you didn't want!

Nope, I don't fancy myself a business man. Just a simple mechanic. I'm not one to look that deep into such business ventures. I try and justify something on its face value rather than what can be expected down the road.

But thanks for the info!

they've alread said they're going to commercialize it by inserting, you guessed it, commercials, before clips play.

I hope they will delete all the inappropriate comments and insults.

Everything google touches turns to gold. I don't know why people think this is a bad thing for youtube and its users.

Google.com will turn youtube into a pop-up ad website. You'll have to watch ads for Citigroup and Wachovia Investments before you see a video railing against capitalism.

Commercialized YouTube will just be YouTube with less privacy and ad tickers in everyplace imaginable. Along with gmail and google-search, Google.com is collecting massive amounts of data on its users to be used for advertising and God knows what else... now with video popped into the mix.

Remember what feedom-loving Google.com did in China a few months ago? They are all for pacifying the masses with whatever verbal diarrhea their public relations department can come up with... but at the end of the day... their loyalty and our private info ALWAYS go to the highest bidder.

Oh yes, and expect heavy censorship (especially on film clips, music videos, and any content deemed objectionable by their legal department)... google.com will not expose themselves to expensive litigation like YouTube has so they will sic their gestapo on the old YouTube.com videos. Welcome to GoogleTube!

Ah - point taken. Sorry - I didn't realise that YouTube was as unmoderated (and vitriolic) as that.

Perhaps JD and Seth could send some JUB mods over there on secondment - that would sort it out.

I post my video game clips on it, and a lot of other people post videos of other things. I really do think the negative comments go a little too far. Glad that I'm able to delete negative comments to my video, but it seems a lot of others just leave them on.

Did anyone watch the video? Google has messed with this guy - deleted his stuff from their site because he used copyrighted music to go with his homemade videos. Dailymotion will probably take over the niche left behind as youtube will change for the worse.
