First, let me say I'm not a huge fan of Realplayer. But it is handy(if you've paid for premium burning) for downloading videos and making DVDs.

On my desktop (which is old and has Windows XP) Google Chrome and Realplayer get along fine.

But, on my laptop (which has Vista) it's a different story. The little blue bar that pops up to download the video doesn't appear. I can right click and it's not on the list of options either. If I use IE (which I hate) it pops up just like it supposed to.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Can you open up Realplayer itself and go through the settings?

I just got rid of Realplayer a few days ago since I disliked it so much. Funny thing is that I had to dig through the program files to get to the uninstaller. Pesky Realplayer... I don't know if I just had a bad installation, or if Realplayer tries to hide option to uninstall it from the usual Control Panel.

I had a similar problem a while back. Try this and see if it works for you.

Type "about : plugins" in the adress bar. Without spaces between the colon and the words and no quotation marks.

Make sure realplayer is enabled.

Then look for flash which should be the first plugin which is Flash (2 files)

Click on the "+" in the details tab on the far right.

Disable the second one.

Now test it and see if RP box pops up on page with a downloadable video.

Then don't use it. There are better solutions for all your needs.

Thanks for the help. It didn't work...but thanks anyway.

Realplayer says the solution is to download the newest version.

The problem with that it will cost me an additional $25 to keep the premium burning feature. When my laptop crashed in May I had to re-load Realplayer and paid $50 for that feature.

I'm not paying them anymore money this year. So, I guess I'll just have to use IE when I want to download.
