Hey guys.

So, I currently have the iPhone 12 and have been team iPhone for going on 13+ years now. But, i’m getting bored of it now and my upgrade is next month on the 14th of August. I just also don’t find any excitement in Apple products anymore.

Thinking of switching to Android (specifically the google pixel 8a) for something new and mainly because it has more customization within its settings within the apps, and, as a techy specific kinda guy, I love the idea of customizing it to make it my own. Which, IOS, you can’t really do this.

The things that are pulling me towards the pixel 8a specifically is the camera, and the fact that it can last through so many years with so many updates. Though, I don’t know if that’s specifically an Android OS thing or Pixel OS thing.

Another thing is, I’m planning on making my first apartment that I rent a smart home due to the fact that I already have a google home mini and that I am physically disabled so I feel as if making a smart home would add a lot of accessibility and ease to my apartment living experience. Saying this to say, I plan to make my apartment a google house, so to speak. So, having the phone I feel like just adds to the experience. (I don’t know if that makes any sense and I do apologize if it doesn’t hahaha)

I’m making this thread also to ask a question: Do you guys have pixel phones? How do you like it? Is there anything I should keep in mind before or when I upgrade? What apps should I keep in mind when I get my pixel?

Thanks guys. Looking forward to hearing and reading everybody’s feedback.

I do not have a Pixel phone. I do however have lots of smart tech that I love. Such as smart speakers, plugs, bulbs, home thermostat, and wireless cameras. All are on the Amazon Alexa platform rather than Google's.
