If you haven't searched Google images lately, the format changed yesterday. Before, the images were listed by pages and, of the dozens (or hundreds) of pages listed, you might get 4 or 5 pages of what you're searching for and all the rest are 'approximations' which have nothing whatsoever to do with your search criteria. You could continue if you wished, but you'd be going through a lot of garbage to find what you're looking for. Now, it's all on one page.

There's no info or links listed, either. You get those by rolling your mouse over the thumbnail.

I suppose I'll get used to it, but I'm still trying to decide whether or not I like it.

Really, at times it can be more convenient than the old version, but I'm still iffy about it.

Mine seems rather similar, except for search options on the side now. I wonder what I'm missing.

Found it out yesterday and I really don't like it. Plus it's pretty heavy to load here. I miss the old format.

Strangely, some un-updated browsers keep their old Google image appearance

Yeah, its good, speeds up stuff, Microsoft done it for years, glad to see Google follow, as I do use Google more now. :)

It looks the same as always on my browser, and I'm using Google Chrome.

This is what it looks like. I did a quick search for Michael Shanks. There are 53 pages of almost 600 thumbnails shown on this single page. (Note the long scroll bar at the right.) You can see the beginning of Page 2 at the bottom, and I've pointed at a picture to show you the pop-up you get now:

At first when I noticed the change yesterday, I hated it. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the old format (aside for results showing a bunch of junk, which it still does). But after doing alot of image searching today, I'm getting more used to it. I just don't like how it loads so many images on a page at once, that seems like a rather impractical way of doing it. They copied Bing's format. And here I thought Google was all about doing things their own way. Guess not.

Thanks for the screen shot, gsdx. Definitely not what I'm getting with SeaMonkey. The new version comes up on the other computer (Firefox). I think I like it.

I don't have that. Does it load every image when you load the page or does it wait until you scroll near it?

It's goofy. On one page, it will load multiple "pages" of images all at once. Eventually after so many, there is a link to "show more results".

i like the layout, but it does something weird when you hover over a picture with your mouse pointer.

I don't like it either. It makes it harder to find images...and slows down my computer.

I hate it. Fortunately, there is an option at the bottom of the page to "Switch to the Basic Version." The few times I have used Bing, I went back to Google because I didn't like the images pages. Now Google has copied them. Rats!

actually i dont mind it. its similar to how they had arranged it for mobile browsers. its gonna take some getting used to though
