GOP brought this plague on itself

When we attempt to silence those whose opinions offend us, we deny to others that which we appropriate for ourselves, on the assumption that our rights are greater than theirs...here lies the dilemma for those who believe that they represent the idyllic political agenda...not lost on all dictators reaching back to the beginning of recorded human history.

Freedom of speech already has restraints imposed by slander, and libel laws sufficient to encourage people to think, before opening their mouth.

You've become a broken record. It is not about "offense." We are either speaking of two different things or you are refusing to acknowledge what I have said repeatedly.

When people get trampled to death because someone falsely yelled "fire" in a crowded theater, the issue is not that his speech "offends."

One I would like to point out to stop using the word offend because it doesn't properly capture why people feel the need to criticize Donald Trump. Two, just because someone criticizes another individual does not mean the criticism means that the other person should be silenced or not be able to have an opinion. Three it feels like the kind of argument I have heard time and time again, where an individual should be free to say whatever they want but the people who criticize that individual are getting called out for trying to take away free speech, which is ironic considering you are criticizing the the person who is criticizing the initial individual.

My problem are the insults and the lies and the possible problems they could and actually have led to. There is a recent controversy from a guy on YouTube who outright threatened Planned Parenthood over the debunked fetus body parts nonsense and he also encouraged his viewers (about 2 million) to do so "that night." I unfortunately do not remember his name but this is a prime example as to why I will criticize Trump and his ilk because of the lies they perpetuate and it leading to anger/violence that is founded on lies.

Indeed.

If Golden Dawn could make a proclamation for all of its followers to take their beliefs into the streets tonight and kill people, and then some did so, maybe Kallopolis would see the problem.

I am not offended....I am sure there are those here who are easily offended..so be it....

I focus on the big picture, and leave the offended person to focus on those details that offend them,

When you are not at all concerned it will actually happen because by your own admission they are a powerless fringe, that's a statement of convenient principle.

Maybe you should look up the word offended means because again it isn't appropriate to describe anyone here criticizing Donald Trump or anything other Politician.

I feel like constantly claiming people are "offended" in their responses is a way to try and discredit someone's opinions by implying they are responding emotionally, not rationally.

That's exactly what they're doing.

"No actual harm is being done, you just got your feelings upset."

Except there's actual harm being done.

I focus on the bigger picture and leave the highly sensitive person to worry themselves into an early grave via a lifetime dependency on Xanax ;)

Insane people are a fact of life everywhere....tragically for the innocent victims of the killer's madness.

A systematic message of misinformation and encouraging people to hate a target were part of that equation. It is not as though an insane person in a total vaccuum picked a random target and it was Planned Parenthood.

That's been clearly demonstrated from the responses here...

....anything outside the United States belongs to another solar system.

When you are discussing the United States, your fucking parliamentary system is fucking irrelevant. I can't put it plainer than that.

At this point, you seem to be in full willful ignorance mode. No, you do NOT have a right to call for taking someone else's rights from them. That is established law in the U.S. whether you like it or not.

Yes when that law looks like it's being threatened by politicians with significant support calling for explicit Fascism THAT is something to condemn.

He's not going to hear that, he's climbed up in his ivory platitude tower and is unwilling to come down.

Someone who actually needs to use xanax is not someone who is "highly sensitive", it is someone who has an actual problem(s). This actually speaks volumes about your posts.

The Constitution is supposed to apply to all. That is until Repukes decide it doesn't. For them the Constitution applies to corporations, the wealthy and hardly anyone else. As for the [Text: Removed] comment about Xanex, [Text: Removed]. You going to say the same about me and Celexa? How about Remeron?

And you need to quit spreading Santorum.

I don't disagree with the last line at all, AS EXTREME as it is.

In many respects, they (those atop the power structure) do hate this planet, or at least think that the people who inhabit it are entirely expendable.

Money trumps peace sometimes.
George W. Bush

And the 1% (of which tRump is) applies that to the planet and the peons.
