Been taking my dog with me to work. Went to the gym in the middle of the day. Left engine and AC on for him while I worked out. When I came out, some lady yelled at me. How dare you left your dog like that in the sun!

I rolled my eyes and said the AC has been on. She walked away.

I think I may need to put up a sign on my car that says AC is on.

You should post a sign. I see a lot of them now. Also, if the car is in full sun, maybe get a shade for the windshield?

I have seen signs. Which is smart because Oregon passed a law saying bystanders can break a window for kids or pets if they feel the need and can't be sued.

So, you don't give a shit about the environment, and you don't give a shit about squandering petroleum/ natural resources.

Nice job perpetuating those Asian stereotypes. You might just as well have told her you were keeping you dinner fresh for slaughter while you were at it.

Fortunately, some cities are passing laws against such selfish ignorant behaviour.

Haha, nope, I don't give a poop.

My thoughts exactly. And don't you think your dog would rather spend the day at home than in a car? Even a French bulldog needs more space than a Lincoln.

I would be the first to break the window and then break the diagonally opposite ones to ensure enough draft. All in the best interest of your dog. You should thank the lady for not having done that, but I hope she at least reported you.

In Michigan you can be ticketed for leaving your car running unattended in your driveway. People with remote starters like to get the interior warm and defrost the windows.

Almost all US states have anti-idling laws, which means if the car is unattended the engine must be shut off and the keys removed from the ignition switch.

Left engine and AC on for him while I worked out.

The amount of power produced by a car’s alternator while the engine is idling is often insufficient to operate accessories, such as air conditioning, over a period of time. This can result in a shutoff of the A/C – even if the car continues to idle.

Don't be surprised if someone calls the cops and/or breaks the window. There is so much publicity about kids and animals being left in cars while the parents shop or whatever, and they get over-heated. People don't know that the a/c is on and they get scared that the kid or animal is in danger. I don't blame the woman for giving you a piece of her mind, I probably would too if I saw that. And, wasting gas/not being ecologically minded as well it being illegal to leave a car running while unattended in many states and situations...[-X

A sign doesn't guarantee that the car's driver actually REMEMBERED to keep the A/C running, either.

Humans can very easily be absent-minded.

How did you teach him to flip off the other drivers? That's clever, but tell him no driving while texting.

On the other hand, he gives a shit enough about fellow members not to rave at the drop of a hat. There's that.

My next new car will be a Telsa. In the mean time, I'm gonna try my best to trash this planet.

Don't do it. Just don't.
